Oh oh no ditra on the concrete no waterproofing in the shower. Certain to fail and mold in my part of the world. Actually at the beginning of your video looks like your mold has arrived already on the previous failed shower

Always buy your Schluter niche oversized. Calculate the size of your two tiles (in this shower) & grout line. Cut the niche down to be that size(in this case likely 602mm. Mend it together using Kerdi fix & clamps then use Kerdi band to re- waterproof the niche. Arrange your vertical studs to fit the niche anywhere up & down in the stud bay but DO NOT install your horizontal support just cut and mark the top/bottom. As you tile upwards stop one tile below your desired location of the niche. Dry fit your next tile with your spacers/levelers and make a pencil line. Place your niche backwards on the wall level and mark its placement. Cut the Kerdi board to install the niche on that line. Install your horizontal supports. Level the niche install and waterproof IN ASSEMBLY so you niche sits on your grout line. Wha la presto no notching in your tile field and your niche blends in perfectly with entire tile field. Man i can feel my back hurting just thinking of doing that tile demo by hand. It might be worth the investment to get an air hammer with a chisel bit and a battery powered compressor. Keep up the good work, ive never done flooring but id probably always add some kind of dampening layer for hearing less footsteps.

Question, ive used a Milwaukee dust extractor (looks basically identical but red) and it keeps up with grinding large amounts of concrete. Will this be similar, cab it handle concrete dust from an angle grinder?
