I bet you are trying to illustrate sensory overload, but sensory overload isn't about sensing things more intensely, it's about having less tolerance for sensing things we don't like to sense. AuDHD here. I have an earplug in one of my ears, under my noise canceling headphones, and I still can hear the clock at the lowest volume possible. I sent this as one of 3 videos to a volunteer supervisor of mine, as part of a request to be allowed to wear noise canceling earphones. Thanks!

Clock needs to be louder and more resonant, but yeah, yall pretty much nailed it. I also never realized how much sound design must go into media, because the first one sounds the way things often sound on tv. I had no idea nonautistics naturally hear the world that way.

Uhhh, the first one is how I hear things and I am diagnosed with autism. I just find sounds extremely annoying(mostly when I'm trying to sleep and people are still awake making noise) I have to wear earplugs to be able to sleep.) but I dont necessarily hear them loudly.

I couldn't register the rain sounds as anything but distracting noise in the first example (think of an envelope for snacks), even though I love hearing rain sounds in real life. The overlay between the three sounds (road, clock, noise) felt bothersome, to such a point the autism example was kind of a relief: in the first, the three feel indistinct, while in the last I could block out the painful rain and actually focus on just two sounds.
