Why do Christians fast ?
Is fasting a common thing that Christians have always done since the very beginning or just something some Christians choose to do ?
These are some of the questions that were answered whenever I became an Orthodox convert.

This Nativity fast has been so difficult for me. I hope sharing my experiences and reflections during the fast will help other catechumen or converts who are going through the same.

Orthodox Convert and First Time Mom New Youtube Channel

Hello mamas ! This is a small introduction video to my channel, it's all over the place like my brain ha. I hope you enjoy and stick around if you like wholesome Christian homemaking. In the channel, I will attempt to document my journey as an Orthodox Christian convert, first time mom, first time as a homemaker truly learning the skills of being a homemaker. With great love and blessings from ...
Way to go! We have been through that, pushing back against hospital staff every step of the way...sometimes they just need someone to say, no we will not do that. Maybe it will cause them to question their model of care. Congratulations, mama. And well done papa, for being your wifes hero in this most memorable moment. Blessings and shalom.
Thank God !!! It is such a battle it seems with some of the hospital staff, they just can't understand that birth is supposed to be a natural process. I realized that some circumstances need monitoring and hands on care from the hospital staff, but that is not the norm. May God grant you and your family many years !
Did you give birth barefooted or socks in The hospital bed momma
barefoot, there was no time to put on socks 😂
You're doing a great job! 👍🏼 This is my first time participating in the Nativity Fast. I'll say there have been a lot of ups and downs for me. Fasting really is a process! I've learned from starting Wednesdays and Friday fasting. It's a struggle but a necessary one as I'm sure you've felt too :) But at a time I struggled with those days so much and now by God's grace I'm able to do fasts like the Nativity🥲🫶🏼 God granted me a lot of ease at the beginning and then I stumbled but I've kept trying, isn't that life! 🙂↕️ On the other hand God has gifted me insight of hidden sins and humbled me quite a bit. It's a journey that teaches us so many things about ourselves. I felt the irritability and anger the most. Temptations to give in are always present. Denying ourselves is tough but gives us such a strong need for God which is the beauty of it. Thank you for your insight and perspective I really enjoyed the video!
Sorry for the later reply but also congratulations Keep going sister ! Were you recently baptized? Fasting is not easy at all ! It is such a great blessing to offer this sacrifice to God, but I agree with you on the struggle. I could not believe how I acted and what the fast uncovered as hidden sins for me that I didn't even know I had. My priest told me that it's only when situations like these occur that you can truly see where you need healing. Orthodoxy has so much depth to it, truly as a protestant I never even realized.

Has anyone been successful at natural induction?
I had a terrible experience getting finger checked I never want to experience that again
I am so sorry to hear that ! I don't know why they insist on checking so much. My first birth was a little traumatic because of the way they kept checking me, also it was a male doctor which was horrible for me, but this second one thankfully we kept saying no and they actually listen to us !
Aww how precious! I'm due this month
May God grant you and your baby many years! He is really so present in births !
@@orthodoxhomemakersThank you 😊
I had my children without any intervention .. way to go mom more ppl need to experience birth this way ..
Thank God that you were able to do this, it is such a sweet experience for moms who can. My first birth it was really heavy on interventions because I had HELLP syndrome (preeclampsia) and me and my baby could have died. It was so scary, but this birth went so smoothly I was surprised !
Sorry to hear your first birth had complications that had to be frightening at times ..Sorry if I came off rude in my comment. I didn't mean to at all . Happy for you !
I had all three of my children natural no epidural no nothing.
Thank God you had such a wonderful experience. It's a great blessing to be able to raise 3 kiddos !
That’s a cute newborn! Way to go mom and dad!!
Thank you ☺ Thank God for giving us strength during this intense time !
Congrationlations that you got a baby😊
Thank God !!
I had no epidural either
Thank God ! I hope you are your family are doing well 🙏
Great job and congrats!
Thank God !
@ofc! Can I ask you a question please?
Congratulations momma for sticking to your birth plan amd listening to your body. And hubby was an excellent daddy doula advocating for your rights ❤ Baby boy is lucky to have you guys as parents
Thank you so much 🙏 Thank God for this hospital experience, it was a lot less scary then my first hospital experience since if I had not gotten induced I probably would have had a seizure or worse. Truly, little Sergius has been a great blessing and comfort to the whole family.
@@orthodoxhomemakers Thank God indeed you didn't have to experience any seizures. And you and baby are healthy.
Even though your nurses were confused on how to handle the request, they respected what you said. Good job for sticking to what you wanted and for your partner to communicate your wishes throughout the process👏🏼 congratulations 🫶🏼
Thank you so much ! They were really confused, but thank God they didn't push me too much because I was really trying hard to listen to my body. It was such a vulnerable place to be, especially since I didn't know anyone of those ladies.
