My son wants to start a RUclips channel, so I'm learning how so I can help him make his own. I'll probably be posting how-to videos for things that I am doing that I think could use another person's take on how to help others learn. I'll use these things to learn how to use the camera, edit videos, upload content, etc. Hopefully I can help a few others with things while I'm learning for and helping my son on his own stuff.

Here's a quick video on importing a purchase sequence into xLights. I've seen a couple people on the xLights Facebook group inquiring about having someone custom-map a sequence or two for them because they can't figure it out. I think many don't know there are hundreds or thousands of songs out there that have already been mapped. Some are free, some cost $, but ultimately, it's incredibly easy to import and map one of those songs and get great results, sometimes with little to no tweaking. Watch the video for the steps!

I travel a lot for work and frequently stay at a Hampton Inn in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Recently, this Hampton updated their network and changed their Wi-Fi (wifi) log-in process. Bit of a follow up... the shake on my truck was ultimately caused by worn out ball joints. I started thinking my rotors were bad, so I replace all 4 rotors, pads, and the front hubs/bearings, and it still didn't go away. It all needed to be done, for sure, but didn't really solve the shake. The thing that really solved it was replacing upper and lower control arms. The ball joints were worn out on the old ones, apparently. Just a thought.
How’s your fel-pro gasket holding up? Way I was taught, night before a customer brings in their vehicle in for axel bearing replacement. (Back in HS, I worked as a helper) The master tech had us put the bearings in the freezer over night (To shrink the bearings). Because hammering on the bearing on install would slightly bend the outer bearing holder thus taping them in vs pounding them in. Then put an old style halogen 1500 watt bulb style lamp by the installed bearing (Without Seal) for about 1/2 hr to an hr, then tap in the seal. Reason for the lamp was to put the bearing up to room temperature for the axel to slide back in. Believe me it wont go in if you tried to put the axel in on a cold frozen bearing 😃

You can get the spring back on with a screw driver. wedge it under its lip and use the screw driver to keep it in place while you work it around the rest. It just spins and falls out if you do it by hand.

Always take the fill nut off first. That way if it strips or is damaged somehow, you will not be stuck at the end.

Cheapest option you're gonna be able to do is host a hot spot from your phone, if it allows it. Your other option, though more $, is to buy a travel router. Look up GL.iNet devices. They have some that are just routers and some that also include a VPN (for watching Hulu / Netflix away from home). They range from $30 to $120+.

I found a loophole. So near the back of the TV there is an ethernet cord hooked up to the cable modem. There's a locking mechanism that locks it but you can use a pin to open it. just unplug it and hook it into your PS5. Connecting speed was 581mbps. Just make sure before you leave hook everything up the way you found it to avoid unnecessary fees. You're welcome 😊 🙏
Interesting... I'll be back there in a couple weeks. I'll give it a shot! I've switched from directly connecting my PS5 to Wi-Fi to now connecting my PS5 to my travel router so I can have the travel router on my OpenVPN so I can still use Hulu / Netflix away from home. If this ethernet cord is there, I should be able to hook it to my travel router and get the same benefits plus very fast speeds. Thanks!

Aren't you suppose to use high temp bearing grease? Just wondering from what I've researched.
Everything I've read is you just use the same oil you'll be using in the differential. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to use a high temp bearing grease, but the bearings will be lubricated by the differential oil when you reinstall everything and fill the differential to capacity, either way.

Problem is that internet it's too slow with laptop hotspot. It's difficult to play an online game.
Yah the ping is pretty bad... I get 120+ pings. Playable but not great. It's great for anything else, though. I was at am Embassy Suites this weekend (also a Hilton hotel) and I retried connecting a few times from my PS5 and one of the times, it did actually give me the PS5 Wi-Fi config option, so I'm going to try that next week when I am back at the Hampton Inn in Fort Smith. I'm wondering if repeatedly trying will eventually work. I'll keep you posted.
My girlfriend and I sat here for hours trying to figure out how to connect the hotel wifi to the PS5 and we have did everything beside the last thing you said...Use your laptop into a mobile hotspot but make sure you connect to the hotel wifi. Thanks but due to the long process I have no high speed data left
Sorry man most of the video is just me proving that the usual techniques don't work. I still have people tell me they do, so I left that in there. I stay at that hotel once a month and I try it the "correct" way ever time to see if anything has changed and so far, no dice.

I'd say it is about an hour or so job if you're not messing with a camera and if all tools and parts are handy.

Interesting. I'm running Win 11 on my laptop as well. My first thought is make sure you've connected your laptop to the Hotel Wi-Fi first and verify it is actually connected before turning on the mobile hot spot. If that's not it, do you run a VPN as well? I know if my VPN is enabled, it can stop the Wi-Fi hot spot from starting up. I have to turn off PIA (Private Internet Access vpn), start the mobile hot spot, then connect to the hot spot from the PS5. Let me know if either of these help.

While I know nothing about Macs, I did a quick google and found that it should have hot spot capabilities: Settings > Personal Hotspot. Maybe that'll be helpful.

Call the front desk and they will provide a number to call, the wifi services will manually connect your ps5
The front desk at this Hampton has no knowledge of any number to call for WiFi setup. I do recall reading somewhere where I could give them my mac address, but haven't had the need since the Wi-Fi hot spot trick works so far. I may push again for a phone # in a couple weeks when I'm there again.

What takes a couple tries? At the Hampton I stay at, there is no way to connect to their Wi-Fi. No way to bring up the hotel log-in page. If you made it work, please send me the steps. I'd much rather do it through the PS5 than tethering to my laptop Wi-Fi.
