This was a wonderful sketch, and I wondered who the actresses might be. Researching which episode this sketch came from, I put up a post that was quickly deleted. Thinking the inclusion of helpful IMDb links might have been the reason, I put up a link-free post. It's not showing up. As the comment contained information some SCTV fans would appreciate, allow me to request "SCTV HQ Sketch Archive" to look into this, and consider the post's inclusion. Thanks.

The "dolls" at beginning looked delightful, and I got curious about whom the actresses might have been. Googling "Maudlin's Eleven" - in the hopes that a fan site (you know how some love to examine every nook and cranny) may have credited the women - led to nowhere. Next stop, the IMDb, to try and figure out which episode this sketch was from. (Luckily, plot descriptions turned out to have been lovingly prepared for most episodes on that database, but there was no reference that I could find for "Maudlin's Eleven.") At the IMDb, three incarnations of the series may be found. The first is called "SCTV" (A.K.A. _Second City TV._ 1976-1981, 78 episodes, 30 minutes each), the second is "SCTV Network (1981-1983, thirty-nine episodes, 1h 30m each), and finally there is "SCTV Channel" (1983-1984, eighteen episodes, 40 minutes each). The wonderful _archiveDOTorg_ site has put up some episodes, and fortunately the complete episode featuring "Maudlin's Eleven" was included. The beginning credits only featured the stars, and the end credits listed only the technical crew. Unfair, is it not? (Of course, it was common for earlier TV shows and films to neglect crediting their bit part players.) The same episode that was put up on _archiveDOTorg_ included a sketch with John Candy called "Johnny LaRue's Discount Deprive-O-Rama" (which may be found on _RUclips),_ featuring several lovely actresses, almost certainly the same ones from "Maudlin's Eleven" doing double-duty. The complete episode's running length is 23 minutes and 40 seconds, meaning this particular episode had to come out of the "SCTV" season (which, again, consisted of half-hour episodes, including commercials). After running a Google search for the John Candy sketch (in hopes of pinning down the "Maudlin's Eleven" episode), several sources claimed it came from the June 4, 1982 episode entitled, "Chariots of Eggs" (which the _thetvdbDOTplexDOTtv_ site labeled as "S03E06," although the IMDb page for that episode has it as "S1.E24," with a running length of 1h 6m) which is very confusing, since the complete episode from _archive/org_ ran for around one half-hour. That _plexDOTtv_ link did specify the "Maudlin's Eleven" episode as being from what they had as "S03E02," entitled, "Pre-Teen World Telethon," which aired on April 23, 1982. The relevant IMDb page confirmed (through their photo gallery) that this was indeed the "Maudlin's Eleven" episode, which they confusingly had as "S1.E20." The cast listing page has included half-a-dozen uncredited performers, but no women were listed. For these actresses to probably be lost to anonymity forever is a drag, and in addition, how frustrating that there is much conflicting information about this fine program from Canada. .

My friends and I would just look at each other wondering how the heck SCTV was 100 times funnier than SNL, when it had only 100th of SNL's budget.
