JSU Halftime 1988 vs. Alabama State
I remember because I was there
I forgot all about this. It's time for a new documentary
We Came To Play!
Solid documentary but it’s telling that it doesn’t mention that since 1978 Jackson State has led the FCS in attendance 16 times, which is twice as much as any other FCS school so JSU is doing its part despite being underfunded even when hitting the academic and athletic benchmarks for increased funding.
Solid history of this sports icon…. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing. Luv that HBCU’s are now carrying the legacy of this venue into its future!!!
Wooow I’ve never seen this march out ❤
Lots of great memories of going to games at the Vet. My dad was a big Bulldog back in the 70's/80's and we went to every game. And it was just as described: A huge party that attracted so many people from all over. The double-headers were incredible!
GOOD STUFF!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
SHELVIN IS MY HISTORY TEACHER
Southern Miss was loaded
I member watching this is like in 5th or 6th grade on betI later i became an hbcu drum major😮
What year was this?
Who owns the rights to this broadcast?!?!? I need to send it to a Historian
Do you have footage from the whole game ? I’ll pay for itn
Man what Jackson was and what this stadium was at one time wish we can get our capitol back there one day 😢
Nutsss how college football works MSU beat Alabama that year but lost to southern miss 42-14 lol
This was delicious. Very well done. I have always been intrigued with this stadium and being from TN I have never been. I hope the City of Jackson restore it versus tearing it down to rubble.
mr shelvin holy shi
Mr edward shelvin
This was pretty interesting but I know it didn't improved race relations at all in Mississippi as implied in the video. To me racial relations changed very little since the 60s. For example, despite UM football team being predominately black for over two decades, there's still never been a black head coach there. What's even more disappointing was seeing black players play for Ole Miss while their fans were waving confederate flags ... just dark and scary .... they were so foolish and lost to do that. They should've went to a HBCU.
So true so true so true. But our people will fall for anything and go and play for anything too.
Where are you from?
2021 JSU packed the Vet. JSU, a sleeping giant has been awaken.
💕💕💕👍🏽👍🏽PVÀMU MARCHING STORM ARE A GREAT MARCHING BAND AMONG THE TOP WITH A SMOOTH AND BALANCED SOUND... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Old video but the energy is STRONG AND POWERFUL!! & most of all they look like they're having fun!!!!
Some interesting HBCU history, but unfortunately the video quality is so poor it must have been taken with 70s version poor quality BetaMax cameras. LOL Very uncomfortable to watch and share on FB to me.
This is definitely the 90s 😂
I don't no where these people get information from, this is why no one really watches this bs. There is nothing mention of what school, what band, neither who created the batonless majoretts. Why Samuel Griffin name is not mentioned in this group, the Alcorn State University Sounds of Dynamite DOB, every dam high school and HBCU marching bands has created a batonless majoretts dance team after he did.
It was bound to happen.
Salute to Coach Prime man 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Only Coach and players shook-hands to each opponent… Class move ❗️
They should be taking about that more.
@@SonicBoomC98 They not because its something positive and their own players Thanking CPRIME for exposure GRAY wrote him letter thanking him I have nothing but respect for that young man, now if he can do it and he’s the one playing why people that’s not playing hating the most
Yeah. SU tow in that ass that year. JSU was in their feelings and had to do something make it seem they won the battle 🤣😂
Other way around which is why the Boom didn't get on the field to try and save face like Southern 🤣
Mr Watch The W...Man stop SU got L that day just like other days
Can somebody be tell me all the schools in the video
Just look up SWAC SCHOOLS .... it’s these 12 bands that set the trend Mississippi Valley State Alcorn State Jackson State Southern University Alabama State Alabama A&M Florida A&M U Prairie View A&M Texas Southern Bethune Cookman University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Tennessee State North Carolina A&T etc.....
2:10 3rd one can't go for that! 😆😂
Why did Ole Miss start playing there? It’s very far from Oxford!
3:17 ..to 3:59...did you even watch the show?
Ole Miss didn't have a stadium. Ole Miss, Mississippi State & USM all played in Jackson.
What year is this?
JuCity JT 2010
