As a person with a C.P. who can barely use my right hand, the worse thing about the game is having to direct the camera manually. I can't tell you how many times I've had to do the boom quests because the fucking camera went in different directions. There should have been an option to allow for the camera to move automatically.

Every time I see Solomon, I want to punch his lights out. There is only one Harry Potter character that I hate more, and there is no doubt who I am talking about. Hem hem! For me, the weirdest part is when Natty sends you an owl asking you to talk about the troll attacking Hogsmede outside of the castle. As soon as the two of you are done talking, poachers attack the old lady who tells you about Merlin trials. The problem with this scene is that Natty is still standing next to you when the shouting begins and yet she does not even offer to help you. The only way for this scene to make any sense at all is for Natty to return to Hogwarts before the shouting starts.

Hi i like to clear some errors uo first fantastic video hiwever you flawed yourself massively. Ok let me burst some confusion. First najour problem you nentioned hogwarts sorting, its simple in game only because you are meant to use the pottermore website for the sorting. Next you mentioned using ancient magic infront of people in hogsmead and Sebastian didn't know, well dont you see only you and certain people are able to see ancient magic so Sebastian dies not know how you killed the troll nor does the people thats why they were so surprised. An example is in combat and when casted your enemies shout how did you do that, because you don't speak meaning ancient magic is non verbal neaning your character is powerful and obviously people cant see ancient nagic so basically could look at it as a silent invisable curse spell. Now isadora house with the undercroft the reason why ominus have connection to the undercroft and isadora the only explanation i got is because isadora us slytherin and ominous is the heir of Slytherin and a family discovery. Ominus maybe related to isadora.

The loot is worthless, I went on a looting spree stealing eveyones drip & coins and it just was lame. Oh boy Unlock another door to get another robe. I already got all the unique clothing but the quest ones. I only like 3 outfits

It was Still the BEST game thats come out for years. A good rpg --- things i disliked ... that the 'ancient magic ' isnt ancient magic its more nuclear waste -- that the clothing just became boring -- that you had to basically russtle animals to get any cash later on in the game .... ohh not a fan of the protego stuff -- i basically grew veg as my main weapon, and ran while it did its stuff. ohh and the hoop stuff for the brooms was a nightmare for me...

i get that hogsmede is “the only all-wizard” village near hogwarts but the open world just feels so…. empty? sure there are NPCs walking the roads but the towns themselves feel so lifeless 😭 hopefully in the DLC we get like some of london or a big city in scotland to play around in. they could even revamp the endgame area to include a big city cause there’s only ONE town 😭

I've had this game from the beginning and have yet to finish it. All I did was tour Hogwarts. I never felt like a student. I felt like a guest and I was not really interested in the story. I played other games instead, but I guess I will get back to it when the definitive addition gets near.

I agree with you on almost every point. The game itself I feel is propped up pretty hard on the Harry Potter IP, but they do a very good job on capitalizing on it in a way that doesnt make me feel like they're just resting on their laurels (hopefully the sequels are the same). It could have very easily been a Ubisoft style open world game, the open world chores are very reminiscent of those to be sure. Especially when you realize you have done 45 or whatever Merlin Trials, and the last 40 or so don't have any meaningful reward other than 100% progress. The quests kept me interested enough to bother going for a 100% despite the glaring plot holes. This game isn't perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than a lot of other trash that's out there and I hope the next is at least this good.

From about 2 hour 35 mark is where you talk about precisely the reason why I abandoned this game. I really, really wanted to love this game. And for about the first 20 hours, I did! Exploring the castle and everything around was magnificent! As a massive potterhead it was incredible. But the rewards for exploration, the never ending gear, running out of slots, changing appearance… oh my god. It killed any desire to explore anything. In the first 20 hours it was so interesting to run around and look into every nook and cranny. It was all new and exciting. But after that it’s like “oh, good, get another cave, and another chest and - oh look! - it’s another pair of glasses. “. So boring! Such a shame :(

I got tired of slogging through this game at one point, feel like I would have absolutely loved it if it came out when I was like 13 but at a certain point I realized that the game was pretty shallow and I wouldn't be playing a game like this if not for the harry potter IP

Unforgivable curses are bullshit in an action-game. You can set goblins on fire, transfigurate them into bombs and explode them, but a single one second killing curse is BAAAAAD. Come on… It’s also the same with poachers capturing and using beasts for their goods is BAAAAAD, but if you do the same it’s suddenly good. Morality just doesn’t work in Hogwarts Legacy.

In a funny way, the two questions with the sorting hat could apply to any house. I'd wager the sorting hat puts people into the house who needs and or accepts them most rather than fatalistic prophecies

To me, what really kills the main plot line are the Keepers. The whole "Oh, I need to prepare the trial" thing is annoying and gets tired after the very first trial. Besides, their approach to new magic seems rather shallow and just a way to keep the status quo. At first, I honestly thought the main quest was going to be about using magic to "solve" every problem; we see a memory where the Keepers use magic to restore the land around Feldcroft, why not do this everywhere? This would be a really intriguing question, what are the limits to the use of magic? Why do wizards keep these advancements for themselves? But alas, the game is much too shallow to pose such line of thinking, instead we get "new magic, bad!" "why?" "because we don't know what it does." Another thing that completely broke the immersion to me is how everyone IS SO GOSH DARN IT polite. The line delivery is a monotonic and everyone is sooooo posh! The fact that there isn't an inkling of romance in a place filled with teenagers is delusional; i'm not even talking about the MC, we don't hear anyone around talking about it, there is no gossip, no teenage intrigue. It is either LIFE OR DEATH! or hahaha dumb dumb.

I did like this game when it first came out. Like i was hyped to play it, counted down the days to release and everything. And loved playing it. Got so in thralled in the world and everything i was into it. But i was not blind to its flaws. Once it finisbed my first playthrough i tried playing as a different character in a different house. And started to notice it didn't really make any difference, other then your house specfic quest. I got bored on my second playthrough pretty quickly. Putting in mods that helped a little but i still kinda lost interest after a bit. One thing i wish they had done was give our character a name that we could be called in universe. I got tired of being called "you" and " the new student" it was just silly that i don't have a name that anyone knows. The lack of consequences for using dark magic is crazy. Freely using Curico and Avada Kadavra would make you a freaking psychopath.. but you are still written as the hero... i heard they are possibly doing a directors cut..i am kinda hoping they add some of these story problems.

I loved your theory about Professor Fig after his death being a little sketchy, as it would explain so much, and would have made for great writing. It reminds me of how Dumbledore has been a little sketchy throughout the main series, not being forethcoming, or Mad Eye Moody being Barty Crouch Jr the entire time for the whole year, something no character saw coming. IMO Uncle Solomen got what he deserved for having exactly 2 brain cells willing to let his family die. For officer Singer being an incompetant cop...I honestly don't think that's too farfetched, since that sort fo thing isn't all that unusual IRL. For the cons that irked me, I hated how they glossed over the classes, and most of the game/story is taking place outside of Hogwarts school itself. And a final one: every loot chest being RNG, when they should all have been simply fixed from the get-go. Like, after spending hours and hours on a difficult puzzle, and all I get from it is a useless, weak, low-tier piece of gear; that just makes me want to throw my controller across the room for all the time I wasted. The payoff was not worth the trouble of some of those puzzles or huge dungeons I got lost in; thank god for online guides and youtube playthroughs. Overall: I thought this was the single greatest in depth constructive critique video pointing out all the flaws the game could have done better with, and it's surprising you don't have more subs. Avalance should be hiring you to one of the writers for the next game in the series.

Man, i really wish this was made as an actual school simulator and not this weird ancient magic chosen one power trip instead. I am some who is botheres by how HP is tainted by JK Rowling, but even then, if this was a good Hogwarts simulator, i would have budged. Taking classes, learning spells, exploring the mysteries of Hogwarts and all in all even just having a chill time would have been perfect for such a game. I dont get why they didnt focus more on Hogwarts and secrets in it that can be found. Passageways, hidden rooms or even secret stuff we know about thanks to HP. It makes no sense to me to have so much focus on the outside as well. And the whole "chosen one" narrative is soooo boring and played out. Why cant i just be a normal Student? Without talent tree and wearing weird things to boost my pointless stats. Why would i ever go to a Hogwarts game for combat? Why? Imagine if this game gave you the whole 7 years and condensing them. You learing about the wizard world, seeing what will be learned, taking the tests (you can even use the HP Licensed game route of making learning a spell into an obstacle course), and pacing the way for your character to be a member of wizard society. Maybe they can become an auror, a wand-maker, potion seller, or they dabble to deep in the dark arts. Also. WHy is there no repurcussion for casting the 3 forbidden curses? Nobody cares remotely for you casting avada kedravra..... but then again nobody cares for the hundreds of bodies you leave in your wake while exploring the school grounds

Doesn't mean the Felix scene is tonedeaf. It's just part of the world that there are these magical components like potions that are sometimes goofy.
