Actually tourists don't understand, it's not the pony wala's, shikara wala's, shawl wala's scamming you, it's your cab driver, who charges 20-40% commission for every service or thing you buy.

Sonmarg is a scammer place . These union people talk sweetly at the beginning and convince the people to do pony ride and after finishing the pony ride they say when did I say this regarding the amount ?

Last year I went 2 sonmarg with family,that day there is raining,but locals are looted tourist,they are talking in their own language,they asked 4 pony ride Rs 7000/to 8000/even they are abusing in own language,so I return back 4m sonmarg without any activities,so I will never go to Kashmir in future.

At least you will not find such scammers at Darjeeling,Gangtok,Simla.

मॅडम हम( पती - पत्नी ) भी जस्ट लौटे हैं काश्मिर टूर सें. अगर पहले मैं आपका व्हिडीओ देखता था तो मेरे आठ हजार बचते थे. टुरीजम डिपार्टमेंट क्या कर रहा हैं.फिल्ड में क्या हो रहा हैं इसकी जाणकारी रखणा यह इन लोगोंका पहला काम हैं. सुविधा देते तो नही जाणकारी लेने देने का भी काम नहीं करते. हमारे काश्मिर टूर में सोनमर्ग पोनी राईड यह काला धब्बा था. अगर वहा पर स्नो फॉल हुआ हैं तो ठीक तरह सें खडे रहने के लिए जगह भी नहीं होती और ये लोग घेर लेते हैं, टॅक्सी सें उतरने के बाद टॉयलेट भी नजदीक नही हैं. सोनमर्ग डेव्हलपमेंट अथॉरिटी हर गाडी सें 50रु एंट्री फीज लेती हैं. कहा जाते हैं वो पैसे. और स्टेट और सेंट्रल टुरिजम मिनिस्ट्री क्या कर रही हैं ? बेताब व्हॅली की पर पर्सन 100रु. एंट्री फीज हैं. एक टॉयलेट और उसमे दो गंदे युरिनल वहा पर भी पर पर्सन 10रु. लेते हैं. मैंने देखा की काश्मिर व्हॅली देखणे के लिए 50 सें जादा उमर का क्राउड जादा हैं. (जो गये 20/30 सालो में अपने युथ अवस्था में नहीं जा सके ) लगता हैं सिर्फ नितीन गडकरीजी काम कर रहे हैं.

Thanks for this video. I went to Kashmir last week and the first attraction is “Greed”, second is “Tourist scams” and last is beauty of nature. Forced tipping is so rampant, it looks like looting without gun is going on. There is no value of 100 rupees in Kashmir, its like 50 paise in rest of india. Now, i am never going back to Kashmir and will advise people to go to Himachal or Sikkim.

How much time it take by walking for thajiwas glacier? By walking is it safe because I have heard that they come behind you while walking and also many theft complaints about wallet missing and mobile missing.....

400 ruppes lagte hai for per person.i had done it..loot liya apko 6000 for 2 people...mistake aap logo ki hai...ase hi dai diye 6000 without bargain..2000 per person bhi loot hai..8 km baisaran valley kai 1000 lagte hai..

Thanks for sharing. Very sad that such loot is happening in sonmarg and other parts of Kashmir. I think J and K government should take strict actions to curb such non sences. We as tourist also should write and report such incidences to concerned authorities.
