8.4 for high kick pin install. Can we have a slowmo of it?
Stay tuned. Glad you got a kick out of that🤣 slow mo hmmm.
Well you've certainly got that working well now! Great to see another old machine fixed and put back to work...
Thanks! I am pleased to have been able to get it working this well. There is certainly plenty of work for the old sickle 😊
These saws are just fine for fire wood and cutting down the odd tree , good value for money
Oosh digging the slow Mo bro
Hey thanks! I was trying to improve the sound there too, but was unable to find a way. Cheers
great videos i have been digging through the channel , i cant help but mention that oil looks very contaminated ,sure youve recently done repairs and replaced bit might be worth trying to install an additional filter to thee system
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes the oil is a bit contaminated... The hydraulic rams hold a bit more oil in them when they are pressed in, than I thought they would, plus the hydraulic hoses to add to it. So next time I change the oil I will remove and drain out all of those as well, to eliminate contamination. I might change the original filter first and if that doesn't do enough then maybe try a secondary..👍🏼
Hi I have a Fordson Dexta and I am fitting a loader to it, what size was the first elbow that you fitted to the hydraulic take off ? please, John
What’s the lifting capacity of this weapon
What a cobbled up mess
Ordered mine today for S5 morini husky boy 50cc thank you from me and my son ☺️
Thank yuo!
Great feeling to have those brakes working again.
Yes. Being able to just use my foot and not my body waight is great.
Big job good inspection
Struggling to find a piston kit for the s5 gs engine on AliExpress. Same piston as this with a extra hole on the intake
An annoying problem -- but cleverly solved by you. Well done!
Hey mate, what year would this bike be? They seemed to have a husky boy '99-02' model and then did they keep making it as a CH 50? are they are very reliable and sturdy bike built to last or more a temporary throw away? cheers
thank you. I ordered one for our LEM Cayman quad with this franco morini S5 engine
Hi is there a pin to remove to keep the cutting knife level when you lift the lift. Thanks.
Hi the way Iv now got mine set up keeps it level until i put in the pin then the end will lift higher you will see this in a future video.
What spark plug is in this plz
Hi i think it had a BR8ES witch is a bit hoter than the BR9ES that is the Equivalent to RN2C. Hope that helps.
Where did you get the seal?
Hi. A place called Agspares got them for me.
Hei. I was wondering for the fule line. My super dexta didnt have a twoway tap. And is There another why for the fuleline too go from and too the glowplugg?
Hi, the fuel tap with the primer button is what I think is best. The diesel line could be routed many different ways mine just seemed to fit where it is when I put it together. I've picked up a new tap a few months back from Amazon part No 957E9189C Fuel Tank Valve Tap with Primer. I hope this helps.
Whats the size of the bolt that fits in the plug?
Thats a good question... I just found one that fitted out of my bucket of nuts and bolts. I'll keep this in mind for the future.👍
@@V4XEN Thx, for the record. It's 3/8" UNF.
@@RobbeSimpels choice thanks!
Still going ok? I have the 25cc top handle version but need something a bit bigger
Hi, yes still goes, had it out today. It is enough for the odd jobs around the place I run 95 octane in it with Motul two stroke oil.
that is a beautiful Fordson Dexter , mowing with a cutter bar is a horrible job if its thick like that i admire you having a go with it
Thanks. Yes, it certainly can be! I feel confident that with a few tweaks here and there, I can get it all working more effectively...
I have a manual for that mower, I also run one behind a Dexta!
that looks some very bumpy ground , that will hit the tines off but you have to go slow i suppose , going to be a lot of hay there
Yes, the ground is bumpy! This is the first job this hayzip has had in quite some time, so just took it easy in case something broke. After using it for this job, I am now confident in using this hayzip. Thanks!
That's working really well! (Viewer feedback: I'm continuing to enjoy your videos, but having a bit of difficulty hearing your narration these last couple of episodes...)
Hi, thanks for your feedback! I have been trying a slightly different style, but unfortunately it has affected the sound/volume. I am looking for a THIRD microphone to fix this.. Appreciate the support 😊
MF 60 mower- I found a manual for sale on the web, well worth having!
Thanks! I might have to invest in one of those to make it easier to find out what is missing and be able to source the correct parts. Cheers
What oil weight
Hi, you can watch this video and see what oil I use for my dexta ruclips.net/video/9_oZY3Y5axo/видео.htmlsi=35BsIWXWigprDrdp
Merry Christmas! The tachometer/proofmeter cable for Dexta/Superdextas from 1957 to April 1962 is Sparex part no. S.75961 (there are 5 currently in stock at Sparex New Zealand). Best wishes for a not-too-hot summer, and an excellent New Year.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!! Thanks for the part number. Will have to get on to ordering one 👌
Not too sure it does look like a Lely Haymaid, Hayzip or a much later Haymax like we had in the UK 80s/early 90's?? Or equivalent badge engineering, some parts do look do look like they came off a Sitrex.
Hi, thanks for that. I did manage to uncover the word zip on the badge and your comment helped me search further 👍🏼
Nice work! Do you have a working differential lock pedal for the deep mud? For some reason all the Dextas & Superdextas I've seen (& the two I own) have had the diff lock pedal/damper removed -- I've always wondered why.
Thanks! Yes, I do have a working differential lock. I probably would have gotten myself stuck hundreds of times if mine was missing. That's interesting to hear about how all of the Dextas and Superdextas that you have come across/own to have that missing. I could understand how the link there could be broken if the tread plate has rusted out and been removed, as when that is missing there is nothing there to stop the peddle and the weight could become too much for the link, causing it to break. I say this as I have currently got my tread plate removed and have experienced using the diff lock peddle engage and then feeling my weight being supported by such a small connecting rod. When this occurred, I realised how easy it would be to break it when this happens. Not sure if that is what occurred on the other Dextas, but made me cautious of my own. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
@@V4XENThanks for the helpful reply! I'm on the Canterbury plains so perhaps the flatness & the generally sandy/stony soil make the differential lock less essential. I'd wondered if they'd resulted in broken differentials or something, and that's why they'd been removed, but your explanation makes much more sense. Mystery solved, I think!
On the older dextas (not new performance) with the pneumatic governor, if the lift pump diaphragm goes the diesel will drip from the bottom of the injection pump through the pipe with the loop in it, it shouldn't get to the sump and definitely won't get into the cylinders. I don't know if this is the same as the later mechanical pumps as fitted to the super dexta and new performance dexta. I can't think how it would though as the lift pump is mounted on, and driven by the injection pump and there isn't a direct connection to the sump, other than it going via the timing cover.
Thanks for sharing your experience! My thoughts are the same. Since having this happen and uploading this video, I have not had it happen again. I am currently working on a more permanent solution to replace the temporary one I came up with in this video. Cheers!
I had the same issue with my dexta causing a hydro lock. I fixed it by taking the glow plug out then using a big screwdriver to crank the engine backwards at the starter ring through the small timing inspection cover. the diesel went out the way it went in but running out the glow plug hole. Now I always turn the diesel off at the tank tap when idle. Mine has a spring and ball bearing assembly at the spray nozzle which didn't do it's job. I've tried four of the nozzles with the small valve and every one has leaked. I've also tried fitting a clack valve on the 3/16" pipe the runs from the tank valve up to the heater valve. The spring was initially way too strong so i chopped it down until it seemed to be letting pressurised diesel past. The issue now is that the diesel loses pressure at the clack valve and no longer sprays onto the glow plug, it's more of a stream so it doesn't start as quickly and need the starter/charger to give it a boost in colder weather. I'd be interested to know if the Agriline valve/nozzle leaks. the ones i got were from APUK and my assumption was the all came from the same factory so would all leak.
The tractor engine is able to talk louder than you.
Well done on getting that working again! I've never used a sickle-bar mower attachment myself, or even seen one being used, so it was very interesting to see your experience with one. Thank you!
Hi, thanks! I am actually finding this particular mower extremely pleasant to use. I'm looking forward to using it for more jobs around the place. It is certainly an old gem!
Great video! Just got a Huskyboy for my son. Do you have any suggestion on what to do with the rearbreak, tried tightening the wire both at the handle and reararm, but it still break very poorly.
Hi, Thanks! If you haven't already, I would start by pulling apart and scrubbing clean the brake shoes and drum with petrol or brake cleaner. Once they are dry, reassemble and if still not working right, try adjusting the rear arm a couple of teeth on the hub. This should help if your brake shoes are getting low and are running out of adjustment on your cables. Let me know how you get on!
Can you help me please? What is the oil capacity in the engine. 0.25l is set in the manual, no it does not take more than 0.16l. Do I have to tilt the bike to take the 0.25l. I am confused. Thanks!
Hi, interesting... I do recommend the user manual amount. However, you may need to drain the oil out then remove the side cover and check that it has all come out. Some time's the oil can turn into a jelly like goop and won't come out when drained. Let me know how you get on!
@@V4XENhi, i also wanna da a oil change but i dont know where the Oil drain plug is to get the oil out and also, which new oil should i use for the husky?
@@jannik_8561 oil plug underneath the engine. its the only one so cant go wrong
Very interesting! I wonder if your system of bleeding the hydraulics lines might also enable you to use double-acting rams on the Super Dexta, i.e. you'd simply put a fitting in the diff filler hole for a return line.
Great idea! Might give that a go in the future, as I do have a control bank lying around. Just need to figure out its ins and outs, which could turn in to something quite good. Thanks!
@@V4XEN Will look forward to seeing how you get on!
Not sure why you figured that tightening the shaft but would effect the engagement of clutch shoes and drum??? ATF fluid is recommended fluid for clutch side case...did I miss the part where the shoes and drum are removed and either cleaned up or washers packs replaced with coil spring kit??
Hi, in this instance it was the crank slipping inside the clutch. Once I tightened the shaft the issues mentioned in the video was resolved. Clutch engagement wasn't the problem here. The oil in the video is ATF. 👍
I'm having the same issue and mines is tighten to specs.. using atf fluid and even did a few washer stacks still takes long to engage
NM you got out haha
Did you escape 😂?
Bloody hell you did well in all that mud -- I'd have thought you would've needed a tracked vehicle for those conditions. Great idea to turn the loader bucket into a sort of reverse bulldozer -- very clever!
Thanks! The Dexta is pretty good in the mud all things considered. It's practically been winter for the last 2 years, so pretty muddy around the place😂. But jobs still need to be done, so some out of the box thinking comes in handy👍
agrapeda
Great video! Need to do this job on my Dexta as well but so far nobody has ever made a video of it
Ha ha ha. Clever bugga
How did you get the second one out. The one with the O-ring.
Hi, sorry for the delay in answering you. I will be uploading a video tonight that will cover how I did this. Hope it helps!
Well done on not falling into the creek!
I was thinking the same thing at the time 😂
You need a new lift pump to you dexta .. lift pump is bad and pump diesel in to your sump ...or the seal betwin pump and frontcover is bad . Michell Norway.. Good video mate 🚜😊👍🏻
Will look nice with well made hand rails.
It runs well done, not like Boots 😊
😁👌
Thank you so much@ my son had been waiting for a year for me to figure this out... finally took it to a shop. They did compression test said its good. More I know what to do!
Hi, it wasn't an issue that I thought of initially, either. Since this video, I have torqued this bike to its proper spec (I suggest googling your sons' bike specification, too). Stoked that this video has helped someone else!
