I love to see this. Locals and transplants both need houses we can actually qualify for, and afford. "Affordable housing" often means an apartment you rent. People should be buying instead.
We agree! Real estate is a great investment - no matter what the price range is, there are options out there! Thanks for watching!
Don't move to Greenville, way to many people and the traffic is horrible!
The National Beta Club was founded at Landrum High School in 1934 and is today headquartered in Spartanburg.

To give you a sense of where things stood in 2023: Los Angeles County Unemployment Rate: Around 5.5% as of the latest available data in mid-2023. California State Unemployment Rate: Around 4.5% in 2023, which is typically lower than Los Angeles County due to the high concentration of jobs in sectors like technology, entertainment, and manufacturing in other parts of the state.
Great job
Thanks so much for watching!!
As a fellow REALTOR in SC, just say this is a wonderful watch. Keep up the great content!
Thank you for the kinds words and I appreciate you watching!
@@livingingvlsouthcarolina I own a luxury STR in Easley since Greenville prohibits STR. I'll be looking for a LTR in Greenville early 2025. Any suggestions for new/newer construction with HOA that has no rental caps or restrictions for long term leasing?
@@clifft2269 Yes. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss. (864) 616-1932 or mark@ruckerandassociates.com. We have some key relationships with builders and onsite reps to find you a good deal with incentives.

Thank you! Very informative video
Thanks so much for watching!
Your RUclips videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you?
This area does not connect to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. That runs from Travelers Rest through downtown Greenville and picks up in spots of Mauldin, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn.
Does this connect to swamp rabbit trail?
Nearby Spartanburg has an expanding network of walking/biking trails. There are plans for them to interconnect into a 55 mile long trail system in and around the city. Last year one of the trails was extended through the downtown area with the first curb protected bike lanes in the state. Another was extended past the site of a former grist mill with a dam and waterfall located 5 minutes from the downtown area. Spartanburg also has Milliken Park at the Milliken world headquarters. It is private property open to the public, 600 acres and is one of the largest corporate green spaces in the US. Plans are underway to create a 31 mile long trail along an abandoned RR line from Inman in Spartanburg County to near Hendersonville, NC, the Saluda Grade Rail Trail, and there are plans for a 945 acre park and nature preserve just southeast of Spartanburg.
Better yet, don't move to either one. We're full.
Both are growing for sure. If residents like it or not, these two cities are booming with relocations.
@acemodean Hi there! We had to reupload our video but still wanted to respond to your question! Regarding the roads for cyclists in Greenville/Simpsonville, the downtown areas are certainly bikeable and Downtown Greenville also consists of the Swamp Rabbit Trail which is 22-miles long and goes all the way to Travelers Rest. This is certainly a hotspot for biking! Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately 😂

I’m flying in to check out Greenville in Oct… moving there in March. I’m looking for a home 350-400K range, nice walkable, safe areas, close to either water or nice walking trails. Mature trees a plus. Neighborhood with walking trails or water actually walking distance to home would be awesome. Any suggestions on communities/neighborhoods to check out… New construction or not, I’m ok either way.
Are any of these builders offering lower interest rates on new construction?
Yes! We have several in town offering low interest rates. I'll be happy to discuss those options with you. mark@ruckerandassociates.com or (864) 616-1932

Maybe during summer months but not year round
Why tell people how great it is, it's sure to be ruined
Great video! Very informative... if I don't see a kangaroo at the end I'll be very disappointed lol 🙃
Thank you! And I'll see if I can get our furry buddy in another video!
SC supposed to be below the nation average. You are in the south not the northeast. The south always suppose to the below national average.
Thanks for the comment! It's true we're typically below the national average!

How do you stay cool in the hot humidity ? (Besides an AC )
You don't. lol. When the humidity level is 80%+, you find a pool, river or lake. To make it more manageable during the work week, I wear all dry fit clothes and drink lots of water.
@@livingingvlsouthcarolina how many months does it last ? July, August, Sept.,....?
@@SusanM. It's pretty much humid here year round due to SC's proximity to the ocean, however the humidity is its strongest in the summer months. June, July and August are the hottest and most humid months with the temperature and humidity starting to subside late September. Hope that helps!
@@livingingvlsouthcarolina thank you ! Appreciate your feedback. 😊
@@SusanM. No problem! Let us know if you have other questions or video topics you may be interested in!
Greenville is. much nicer than Asheville.
I agree with you! We do like to visit Asheville, however, there is nothing like Living in Greenville SC.

Do the apartment, condos & homes have screened in patios?
Im a 4 yr resident in Greenville county. I moved here from SW Florida in 2020. Screened Lanais and or patios are very commonplace in Florida as you may know. Here it is more random. I would say if your having a house built , you may have to customize it to be screened in. I am in a new Townhome and the patio is not covered or screeded in. Good luck to you
@@angelaheighton8041 thank you!
@@angelaheighton8041 thanks for your response - great answer!
Hi there, thanks for the comment! Like Angela mentioned, compared to Florida for example it is more random here. There are homes, apartments and townhomes with screened in patios and porches but more often that not it's something you will need to add on if allowed! Hope that helps!
How’s the heat and humidity?
Hi there! Thanks for the comment. The heat and humidity depend on the month. The summer months are obviously the hottest with temperatures averaging in the 80's to mid 90's. The humidity is on average around 70%. Hope that helps! It's warm but beautiful!
Neither. Myrtle Beach is the best place to move. 100% sure of that
Myrtle Beach is a great spot in SC!
Great job as always
Thanks again!
What is the job market in the area of mental health? I am a nationally board certified licensed clinical trauma therapist and hoping Greenville has lots of opportunities. Just received my SC professional license so I am ready to start looking for jobs. Thank you.
Coming from another source, who’s an expert in this area, says the job market for mental health is very strong in Greenville. While there are a lot of clinicians there is also a growing number of patients with PTSD. Let me know and I’ll be happy to refer you to a resource.
@@livingingvlsouthcarolina Thank you so much for asking and sharing this information.
I live in Utah and can personally share that our groceries are extremely expensive, the quality of our produce is poor (often sold moldy in the store), and many organic and gluten free items are not available. Just today I spent $150 for 2 yellow squash, 6 large bottles of water, a small container of salsa, and 4 cans of soup. This was just a quick "run in/run out" since I do prefer to buy my water in glass bottles and I was in the area of the only store in town who has glass bottled water. Utah is advertised as such a desirable state to live in, but nothing could be farther from the truth. It is a Buyer''s Beware state and builders do not have to honor any warranty on a new construction home. I have only been here for 3.5 years and I am getting ready to sell my home that was new construction when i bought it. Oh it looked beautiful, but literally it is falling apart. I am headed back to the South where integrity is still alive! Thank you for posting this video.
Yikes! Thank you for watching and sharing. We would love to have you back in the South!
@@livingingvlsouthcarolina Thank you!
You are right , great job. Except I will make 40% less in if I move there.
Thanks for watching and sharing. Job pay is certainly a factor.
greenville is the county and metropolitan area and csa largest. of South Carolina, don't be fooled by the population of the city limit, it feels and of course has a more economic impact. bigger than Asheville and twice the population
I appreciate the comment!
Sir Greenville SC is safe city
Hi, thanks for your comment! I recommend researching some different websites to get a more accurate answer. Websites such as the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and U.S. News can provide data for the questions you may have!
I'm currently living in California. Greenville was on my list of areas to check out out east. I'm in Greenville right now. In my opinion, Greenville is really for the younger set with its many brand new condominiums and outdoor friendly activities, mainly, beautiful hiking trails. Nothing wrong with that, and kudos to the city planners, but, in my opinion, it really isn't a place to retire to.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment. I’m glad you are in Greenville! Enjoy!
Thank you for watching and commenting! You are correct, Greenville County as a whole has double the residents vs Buncombe County. Asheville city has more people than Greenville city. Also, Greenville Co has approximately 135 more square miles.
Yes, so too is Asheville's city limits. They are larger than Greenville's. I've spent time in both cities and there is no comparison in population and economic impact. Greenville is simply a level or two higher than Asheville. You short the viewer of these videos by not pointing out this drastic difference in population. Again, this matters in terms of traffic, economic impact, and crime.
@@whateveryouwant-te8ro Thank you for pointing this out.
A couple key differences between these two areas is the population. Greenville county has twice the population as Buncombe county and so does the Greenville metro area. This matters in terms of economic impact, traffic, crime rates, etc..
Screw Greennville.
Have you done or are considering doing a retirement video that doesn't assume the person is 65+ years old? If the benefits of retiring to the start require actually retiring requiring that takes away from the overall appeal. Especially when you talk so much about 55+ communities.
Hi Todd! I appreciate the comment. And this is perfect timing! We are uploading another video today titled "Best Retirement Communities in Greenville, SC". I highlighted several neighborhoods that are not 55+ restricted. Let me know what you think! Thanks again.
South Carolina isn't woke now sadly I can't say that for N.C. I used to love N.C. It's ran like a democratic state now. They aren't standing up for America.
