Sam is the best choice of actor for this role. I'm watching this series only because of him.

They will never give it to him, unfortunately! The ugly and harsh truth is that he is and will be an actor condemned to be pigeonholed in future roles with little psychological depth that will prevent him from giving all the good that he has inside as an actor and that he has more than demonstrated by playing “James Fraser”. The worst thing is that age is unforgiving and he will not be able to continue playing romantic leading men or adventurers for much longer; these types of roles are becoming less and less flattering to him. The only thing left for him is high comedy! And making people laugh, or even more difficult, smile! requires even more talent and he has not yet been able to demonstrate that professionally… due to a lack of opportunities that they do not give him! In other words, professionally he is falling into a chronic case of pigeonholing as an actor.
