Huckleberry Railroad 152, a former Alaska Railroad engine and one of Michigan's only operating narrow gauge steam locomotives, continues to run more thrilling excursions every year. Throughout 2024, we ventured out to witness the locomotive for two events. Now that’s an excursion I’d like to take! Where is this location? Indiana?
This is a regional attraction called the Indiana Rail Experience hosted by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. They pull excursions every May-October along the Indiana Northeastern Railroad, which stretches into three states (Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan). So good😀❤ (Being a train engineer in 2024 goes hard)
Was this from last year, a few weeks ago, or recently? Because 1225 was recently downed because of an injector issue unless that issue was rectified.
This was from last year's North Pole Express. I explained it in the description of the video :) I actually found out maybe a few weeks ago that her issue is a cracked superheater core. I personally haven't heard about any injector issues thus far.
She is beautiful locomotive and queen of the railway and number one of train lovers❤❤

My grandfather worked for the Pier Marquette and then the C&O railroad in Michigan.
Surprisingly, most of that is actually steam, not smoke.

Why is it pulling three cabooses?
The C&O caboose you see in the video was recently donated to SRI in early 2023 and is now being used in almost every excursion. Ironically, it came in handy last year because of a high volume of ticket purchases for the cabooses. So to compensate, a third caboose was added to the train. The two red Ann Arbor cabooses have always been used on these trips.
