Thought about commenting on this for a long time but didn’t because this is a HOT TAKE. This is a better MV than the official Dreamcatcher version. I know the insomnias (Dreamcatcher fans) are going to bludgeon me with their extra long lightsticks but I really believe that this is the better MV! The song is said to be about the Medusa mythos and oblivion at the surface. Deeper themes like emotional availability, non-reciprocation of affection and dedication to a hopeless cause are also present. This MV feels more personal and more connected to those deeper themes. There is also a lot of visual flavor that just works: Creepy doll energy, red string of fate, poison apple, mirror reflection, even blood. More generally it feels cinematic. You all killed it! Each member brought something different and every one was great. Normally there is a subset of the team that will shine a little brighter in a given dance either due to the choreography or just how a shot turned out by circumstance but from my p.o.v. This is an exceptionally balanced work. Everyone ATE and it was the same number of calories!
