I feel like once we move away from the concept of side characters, stories would be better. Take mushuko tensei, how that world is built, there so many strong characters and given the depth of the story, there is a clear path on how peiple get strong in that world, why it seem to no shortage of strong characters. Just because a characters don't or hasnt displayed there power, dont mean they ain't monsters or cant go toe to toe with them. With alot of trash anime, the mc and the people around him be the only strong people in that world. Its stupid.

Zabuza hasn’t had enough on screen fights to show the extent of his capabilities, two fights with Kakashi that tells us Zabuza scales to roughly equal if not superior in stats (Due to Kakashi resorting to using the Sharingan) For graduation we know Zabuza had to kill 100 of his fellow classmates and that’s about it.

If you're going to take the attributes of ninjutsu out of the equation, you also have to take a strength out of the equation which means he can't use that sword. Nah ditto would not beat Kakashi. The one thing ditto can't copy is an opponent's health so it's always squishy but has the same moves aka Kakashi would have way more "HP".

Kakashi wouldn't be able to copy yuta or crolo tbf. He copies handsigns and chakra control he can't copy innate abilities. Otherwise he would copy alot more like wood style, susano, ect.
