How in the hell can you even consider putting skyline as number ten. The movie sucked... unless you like watching idiots in an apartment for 45 minutes and FINALLY see the aliens just before credits roll. Second and third were so much better.

No “Alien”? The best sci fi ever? Whoever compiled this list needs to re-think.

I think for an all out alien invasion is ridiculous, my reasoning is simple and basic. If an alien species can navigate space distances, this would mean they are far superior to our own species, they would certainly be technologically far superior to humans. they would more than likely have biological technologies as well. With that they could easily design a virus that would spread rapidly throughout the world kill everyone quickly releasing the virus from high above the earth blowing in the winds covering the earth within a 48hr. period before descending into towns, cities, states and countries. Doing this they would not have to be confrontational wiping out most everyone with a virus from another universe and before we realized it was a virus most everyone would be dead, the only ones that might survive would be just a mop up for the new species.

Arrival, District 9 are not invasion movies. Nor was The Day the Earth Stood Still, actually.
