    After Schultz? Or Alfred Schutz...Loved and appreciated this video. But the slides should be reviewed much more carefully...

    It takes so little to brighten someone else's day. Yet it can leave them feeling happy for a moment, an hour, a day, or give them a sweet memory for life. Help someone in need (esp. the elderly), tell someone you care about they’re amazing, compliment the chef who just made your delicious dinner, post something positive or leave a kind comment on social media, even just smile at people around you... And it will make you feel pretty awesome, too. 🙌 🎥

    What exactly the "intervention" stands for in the context of systematic reviews?

    • @sageibrahimdunleavy754
      @sageibrahimdunleavy754 4 года назад

      Well, interventions usually are new attempts, tools, or methods the researchers implemented to promote, correct, or even prevent the occurrence of certain behavior. So, systematic reviews usually present the literature of a specific area of research and find the gaps, then make an intervention to fill one or more of the gaps. If you are not doing Systematic review for a graduate degree, then you don't need to make an intervention. You could just go with a traditional narrative review or meta-analysis.

    The CRT guidelines will be very helpful going forward. This will require a culture change within the DME/POS culture.....Medicare is still resistant to powered mobility systems LOL!

    I like the example of AAC applications running on iPhone and Android devices. The clinician's credential is the "key" to our agency being able to justify a recommendation. We still have reduced capacity for evaluation and recommendation of AAC applications and software. Another example with which we have struggled is high-tech prosthetic limbs...both upper and lower. We have developed a criterion-based selection process for these, since any one purchased could/would be a significant percentage of our entire budget for prosthetics/orthotics. NOTE: in our state, Louisiana we consider prosthetics and orthotics as "rehabilitation technology", unlike Texas, where DARS categorizes them as "physical restoration". A final example is in functional electrical stimulus devices such as the BIONESS(tm) which the state of Michigan considered "experimental", but we are considering them under a "request for exception" to assist persons with mobility impairment from stroke or other neuropathic issues that might impact the gait or cause "foot-drop" symptoms.

    In addition to Medicare/Medicaid, Private Sector Insurance and Veterans' Administration; please add Vocational Rehabilitation Services as a provider. Although most of our wheelchair (personal mobility systems) are for vocational purposes, we also have limited resources for "independent living" services. This will hopefully expand under the new Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Public Law No. 113-128. Comment from John Schweitzer, Louisiana Rehabilitation Services, Louisiana Workforce Commission.
