The Anastasia Archive

Hello!
Welcome to my channel!
I am a writer and a musical theatre fan. Anastasia the Musical is in my top 10 favorite Broadway musicals. Even though I love it, I acknowledge that the story has problems. So I wrote a script of how I would adapt the stage musical into a film.
If you are interested in reading my script, I'll leave the AO3 link here:

Just saw this play, it’s so moving and so well put together!
It's such a beautiful show.
I love these small pure hearted and thoughtful videos in the random corners of RUclips
What a beautiful woman!
She was!
they cut Crossing a Bridge for the US tour and i'm angry
it's also not in the version my school is doing which is the real tragedy because our anya is an incredible singer and she would do it so well...
It’s such a good song. I understand they might have cut it for the sake of time, but on the other hand, that song is important for Anya’s character.
That sucks!
@@anastasiaarchiveThey also cut out the second verse of Close the Door, as well as a bunch of lines that I really liked. For example, the exchange between Anya and Gleb in his office is shortened after the line "Thank you for your warning, comrade." They remove everything starting at "it's Gleb, please." And it picks back up again at "as your new friend, be careful."
@ they cut those Gleb lines from the second tour I saw. That’s such a mistake. They cut a verse from Close the Door????
last february i played little anastasia/alexei romanov in a bigger theater, and i was so excited. this just happened to pop up on my fyp today and it brings back so many memories! it's crazy how those 13 shows just flew by.
That’s incredible that you got to be in the show!
Love Sierra Boggess; so talented!
She is!
You're totally channeling Jodi Benson. It makes me feel nostalgic!
Sierra Bogges and Jodi Benson are fantastic!
I was in this show (not the Hartford one) in November
That's awesome!
I honestly would say the coolest playbill I’ve seen is the Lyric Theatre Harry Potter and The Cursed Child playbill. It has an ar experience you can do before act one and during intermission, along with full recaps for the original books/movies
Wow, that sounds really cool!!
she’s so talented it hurts
She is amazing, thanks for posting ❤
You’re welcome! Her portrayal of Wendla.
I hope in part 2, Fyerro turns into the scarecrow before Dorothy arrives. In the musical, it felt too rushed and it would be more sad if Elphaba became wicked before Dorothy arrived.
I don’t think that would make much story sense since losing Nessa and possibly Fiyero is what made Elphaba really snap. It’ll probably be expand and expanded to make sure her turning evil and Fiyero’s transformation won’t feel rushed.
doing this play in the spring i play count ipolitov super excited
That’s awesome!! Hope you have a lot of fun doing the musical.
Lindo filme que entrou para história Não canso de ver 🥰

Happy 2025!
Ok I’m so sad that everyone’s dogging on Something bad bc it’s really underrated in my opinion, here’s my rating 1. The Wizard and I 2.Dancing Through Life 3.What is this feeling 4. Defying gravity (ik guys I’m a monster) 5. Something bad 6. I’m not that girl 7. Popular 8. No one mourns the wicked, I mean it was meh sry not sry 9. Ok I need a live action movie
Me too!
@ asked ChatGpt who owns the rights the Broadway musical. The rights to the Anastasia Broadway musical are held by Concord Theatricals, which licenses the stage production for professional and amateur performances globally. Concord acquired the licensing rights following their acquisition of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, which previously managed the show’s theatrical licensing rights . For further use, such as adapting the Broadway musical into a live film, additional agreements involving both Concord Theatricals and Disney (which owns 20th Century Fox, the creator of the 1997 animated movie) would likely be required.
@ yes. I’d imagine it would be a 20th century Fox film. Since they made the 1997 animated movie and the original 1956 film.
Wtf 👁️👄👁️
My Wicked song rankings! 1:Popular 2:The wizard and I 3:I’m not that girl 4:Defying Grafity 5:what is this feeling 6:No one mourns the wicked 7:Dancing through life 8:one short day 9:dear old shiz 10:something bad 11:A sentimental man
Yul Brynner was a great actor. And Ingrid Bergman was someone most men wanted.
After reading that masterpiece, there is no denying that you shouldn’t be a writer. You MUST be a writer
Aww thank you so much!!
I said it once and ill say it again: Michael Arden is a f@cking powerhouse :D
He is!!
I said it once and ill say it again: Michael Arden is a f@cking powerhouse :D
Lion king: I am the best Disney musical The hunchback of notre dame:
Which is funny because Patrick Page played Scar in the lion king musical at one point.
@@anastasiaarchiveoh yeah, almost forgot about that😂😂 But is it just me or is Patrick so good whenever he plays a villain?
@BobaCody He’s fantastic!
Wow… I mean wow. Why does it look so beautiful ? Makes me want to watch it even more than I already do :>
It’s such a good film.
That’s so nice. Julie Andrews is wonderful I. That movie and the real Maria VonTrapp appears to be very nice.
She's actually pretty good. No wonder she's cast as Snow White.
Oh yeah. I really enjoyed her performances in West Side Story and the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
I love the sound of music me and my brothers and sisters will watch this over and over again till we learned all the songs by hard I can't you not whenever they replay The sound of music it was going down in my house
It’s one of my favorite films.
I want Patrick Page as Frollo for a live action Hunchback of Notre dame remake.
Me too. He was perfect in the role!
Ok, hopefully no one disagrees with me here but: 1)this is literally my favourite number from the musical?🥹🥹 2) Michael Arden is a powerhouse 3) Disney definitely SHOULD put this in the live action movie..
It’s defiantly one of my favorite songs in act 2. I’m not a fan of Disney’s remakes, I’d much prefer if they made a pro-shot of this masterpiece.
@ omg yes! Also you have a point about the pro shot. But like literally this show deserved to go on Broadway.
@ Yes, it deserves to be on Broadway and to have a Broadway tour!
@@anastasiaarchive Yeah! Also you can tell how much love they put into it! I also like the fact that they made Quasi deaf in the musical. I don’t know why I like it but I think it was nice to add.
@ Quasimodo was deaf in the original book. You should look up the 5th Avenue production videos because a deaf actor plays Quasimodo and signs the lyrics to the songs,
Am I the only one obsessed with oh dear Glinda ur so good
nope!
My ranking ! 1. Defying gravity 2.what is this feeling 3. No one mourns the wicked 4.dancing though life 5 popular 6.one short day 7.the wizard and i 8 . Dear old shiz 9.someting bad 10.a sentimental man Just my opinion !! 💚🩷 I like all the songs 🎵
I like all of the songs too.
The transformation from a man to a less man from the outside. Amazing!
I love how they make such a simple transformation feel so emotionally impactful.
I love how they use the last dialog from the book.
It was such a nice touch. I love how the stage show really grew up the material.
Imagine this song being part of a live-action remake of Hunchback.
That would be epic!
my ranking: 1. defying gravity 2. popular 3. what is this feeling 4. no one mourns the wicked 5. one short day 6. the wizard and i 7. i’m not that girl 8. something bad 9. dancing through life 10. a sentimental man 11. dear old shiz guys keep in mind that i’m ranking these based on the musical not the film bc the musical is how it was written and it’s better ngl
I think both versions of the songs fit for their mediums and both are wonderful ways to tell this story.
@@anastasiaarchive same, i agree, but i'm saying that the original is mostly likely how the original composer wanted it, so i think that it's better, but then again, it's just people's opinions, and i love them both
@ That’s totally fair 🙂. I think Stephen Schwartz worked on this movie too. I’m just so happy that the Wicked movie was a wonderful adaption.
My Ranking 1.Defying Gravity 2.What Is This Feeling 3.The Wizard And I 4.I'm Not That Girl 5.One Short Day 6.No One Mourns The Wicked 7.Dancing Through Life 8.Popular 9.A Sentimental Man 10.Something Bad 11.Dear Old Shiz
YES! YES YES YES. The Wizard and I is my favorite song from the movie, and I’m thrilled to see it getting the attention it deserves.
It’s such a good song!!
Is he still alive?
Yes, he recently turned 99.
Beautiful.
Thank you!
I remember when I was a kid, I used to watch this movie called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and it had Dick Van Dyke in it. He is such a good actor and it feels nice seeing him celebrating his (89th?) birthday. 🎈🎂
I can’t believe he just turned 99!
@ I know! 😄And as much as I dislike Mary Poppins Returns, one of the few things I love about it is how they brought Dick Van dyke ( even if it was 10 minutes or something) and he carried the damn movie ( as well as the 2D animation segment and costumes)!
@BobaCody He was one of the few things I liked about Mary Poppins Returns lol. Angela Landsbury’s cameo and Karen Dotrice’s (original Jane actress from Mary Poppins) cameo.
@ yes, definitely!
This is priceless! Dick Van Dyke on his birthday at Disneyland. Maybe some of you don’t remember this, but he was in the original Mary Poppins I remember seeing as a child.
Yes, I used to re-watch my Mary Poppins VHS tape. It was a childhood favorite of mine.
This definitely has to be like one of the , if not, best disney musicals. The entire cast was a f!cking powerhouse, the songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz carried the whole show ( Made of stone was a masterpiece, it’s shocking how Michael managed to hit the notes) and it deserved to be on broadway! So yeah, Stephen Schwartz was right about this being one of the best adaptations of the book.
Yes. It’s the best Disney stage show in my opinion. I’m still salty that it never made it to Broadway.
@ Yeah, probably so did most people who enjoyed watching the slime tutorial, or the musical if they were lucky. But, you’re definitely right :D
@ the slime tutorial is how I saw the show. A friend introduced me because I liked the book and Disney animation. The stage show is the perfect combination of the two!
@ yeah same way I found out about it, except I was introduced to it by bumping into a video of the cast recording, the one playing as the audio in your video because I was obssessed with Hadestown XD
@ I love Hadestown so much!!
Thing is massive on her 😂😂.
Beautiful
These are literally my favourites too!,
I seriously LOVE the Playbill for Anastasia! Also, ever since I discovered this channel through the ao3 Anastasia rewrite, I’ve been OBSSESSED! Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see more
Aww thank you so much!! And thanks for reading my rewrite!!
I quite literally couldn’t stop reading it! You would make a great movie director!🍿
@ oh my gosh. That is so sweet. Thank you so very much!! I really appreciate it!!
