Wonderful teaching. I really wrestle with whether doctors & medicine are gifts from God. I mean why would a 'gift' from God help one person but kill another? Why would a 'gift' from God have side effects that are often debilitating? That seems strange to me. But I agree we all need to be led by the Holy Spirit in what we should do in any given situation without condemnation. 100%. However I do believe God's best for us is to live entirely from His life within us without the need for doctors. I'm not sure many of us have arrived at that place yet. But I think we're getting closer as we grow.

I very much enjoyed this and appreciate the teaching. I generally agree our expectation, whether good or bad, is important. However let me add one thing to think about. 8:47 - Did the Leper dismiss in his mind the thought of failing to be healed? He didn't. We know this because the bible declares that he knew Jesus could heal him but didn't know if he was willing to. Jesus responded with compassion. So how do we receive healing from Christ? Read the gospels. Every person that came to Jesus came expecting his help. That was the ONLY requirement. None of them knew much, if anything, about what you're talking about here. No bible. Nothing. There's no example of Jesus denying healing to any person that came to him for any reason. The only ones that weren't healed were the ones that didn't come. It's really that simple. And it should remain that simple today. I myself was healed of Covid instantly while not actively expecting to be. In fact I was yelling at God in anger over it telling him I wanted nothing to do with him or his healing. It was that bad. After my rant I was healed instantly within a minute or so. Humbling to say the least. I'm not proud of this moment but pain and agony tends to bring out the worst in a person. So I'm thankful for his mercy, compassion, and grace. Let's be careful to not accidently put restrictions on what God can or can't do.

I have a question: What is the difference between already being healed and wanting to be healed? I hear healing put this way a lot. Regardless of how you look at it you're still wanting the sickness and disease to leave your body no? I guess I'm having a hard time seeing the difference. If I'm already healed but dealing with sickness aren't I still wanting the sickness to leave? If I'm crying out to God for to be healed I'm also wanting the same thing; for the sickness to leave. The end result is the same. Let me describe it like this 1. Jesus provided healing through his finished work but it still has to be received 2. You're already healed. There is nothing to receive because you've already received. So now you're just waiting for the manifestation. Very confusing. And both seem like the same thing to me but just worded differently. But either way I'm not the Holy Spirit and have no power to produce healing. Would love some clarification. Thank you.

I enjoyed this very much. But I'm starting to wonder if God honestly cares about our various theologies. There are so many "how-to" teachings on healing out there it's crazy. I have a friend who was instantly healed of ALS. He was an atheist and didn't even know the bible. He knew nothing. And yet he was healed. I sometimes think we know too much. And often that 'too much' causes a lot of confusion for many people. Just my two cents.

Healing is received exactly the same way as it was in the gospels...from Jesus. We mistakenly think that grace and truth started after the cross. No, grace and truth (Jesus) came during the gospels. Jesus ushered in the principles of the New Covenant during his earthly ministry. This why he healed, forgave, and extended grace everywhere he went because the work was already finished even then. It was finished before the foundation of the world. So yes the work of healing is finished. But receiving it isn't all of sudden different because we have the bible or because we're in the New Covenant. Jesus is still the healer. Look to Him knowing healing belongs to you because of what He has done. That's our part. It's the Holy Spirits job to make real or manifest the healing. Let's not over complicate it. Every person that came to Jesus in the gospels had no bible and new nothing about any of these various healing teachings. They came to Jesus with simple faith that He would help them. And Jesus did exactly that. Very simple.

Excellent teaching. Thank you. But I feel we tend take Proverbs 23:7 out of context. Here's some various interpretations: Most Modern Translations: Solomon instructs seekers of wisdom to avoid greedily eating food served by a stingy man Septuagint (Greek Old Testament): Sup not with an envious man, neither desire thou his meats: so he eats and drinks as if any one should swallow a hair, and do not bring him in to thyself, nor eat thy morsel with him: for he will vomit it up, and spoil thy fair words Greek translators took Solomon’s instruction as a warning against inviting an envious or gluttonous man to dine at your table. Anyways just food for thought. I hear this verse used a lot as it pertains to our thoughts which led me to wanting to read it all in context. Now don't get me wrong I agree that we should renew our minds and all. But I think, in context, this particular verse doesn't mean what we think it means. Every time I read all of it I come away with completely different understanding of the verse. “Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies; For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. ‘Eat and drink!’ he says to you, But his heart is not with you. The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up, And waste your pleasant words”

"They did not sing in order to reach victory, rather they sang from victory". What difference does it make? The goal is the same and that's to be free of the problem. You're still doing something in order to be free or to recognize that you're already free.

I think the issue many have is that no one in the gospels that came to Jesus for healing needed to "wait" or jump through all of these spiritual hoops to be healed. They simply came to him expecting his help and got it. They were healed immediately or very soon after. While today it seems like we're having to "wait" for something that's already been given. So I have this wonderful gift already with my name on but I can't seem to get into the box to enjoy it. I believe this is how many people feel. Jesus did not place any demands or conditions on people to receive healing except to come to him. If a person didn't come to him then they weren't healed. That's it. This simplicity can not be overstated. Now it seems like we're having to fulfill all of these conditions before healing manifests. This is not reflected in the gospels.
