I played this game a few years ago. It was awesome!

Will the voiced version still be released at some point? And I'm also curious about the "Out of Time " project... The last updates on the Team Effigy blog were in 2013 :(

The album is available on iTunes under Justin King & The Apologies but can be found by simply typing in Justin King. $9.99 for the entire album. Goddamn shame what happened with their label issues. I would've supported the hell out of this band, now I just support Justin.

@deniedtower You can get the soundtrack if you write a review of the game anywhere (blog, website, forum whatever) and send the link to me. It can be any language.

i didn't say there was anything wrong with it.. he just asked what the effects were and that's what they are.. a LOT of delay and a LOT of reverb

It really reminds of one of those classic point-and-click horror/mystery games from the '90s.

With these specific effects and the long instrumental section, this song sounds strongly similar to the music made by Explosions in the Sky, which isn't a bad thing!

he or someone would indeed have to be playing the chords into the vocoder. the only other way to achieve that effect live would be to have a pc/mac running midi software which could tell the vocoder which notes to re-produce. though then they'd have to be playing in sync with the pc/mac via a click track ie. in the drummers ear. not hard to do but i bet they would want the pc hidden side/back stage heh

Yeah but wouldn't he then have to be playing keyboard at the time in order to use that effect? It seems impractical considering he is playing guitar.

yeah its a vocoder with a synthesizer playing chords as input for the filter bank. its not too hard to reproduce live, i think micro korgs come with a vocoder built in and you see those in shows a lot.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Sounds very complicated. Like I said, they haven't used it live but it's also a somewhat recent addition to the song. Earlier recordings of Same Mistakes didn't have it and I'm pretty sure they only added it for the final album version. Perhaps they will integrate that live at some point

*studio magic.* As far as I know they have never used that effect live. It's too bad too, because that's my favorite part of the song. It's some kind of detuner/pitch shifter with reverb I'm guessing.

Thanks for your opinion. However I think you've made your point. You think the video is garbage; myself and many other people think it's beautiful. Fair enough. It is actually possible to like many different bands, so "bringing this to (our) attention" won't make an iota of difference to what we like about this video. Please refrain from making such strong comments in future; we can discuss music, but calling someone's work "nonsense" right off isn't going to get anyone to listen to you.

They're not with Epic Records anymore. I think this video was filmed by themselves (I could be wrong though).

Yup, it's the full version :) It's not on the CD, but I don't know where you can get this. I downloaded it off Myspace, but the quality there isn't much better :(
