If you look up long hair on social media, you learn real quick that people with straighter hair is trying to grow long healthy hair too. Any woman that can grow long hair is seen as exotic. Hair care today is not the same compared to many years ago. During the Victorian period you can find pictures of black and white women with long or longer hair. They even put their hair in protective styles and covered it up at night.

If your mind is messed up you can be any shape, size or culture. Its the mind set.

For me I returned the revair after using it once. I felt it made my hair feel dry and brittle. I was hesitant because everyone is hyping it up and I thought is it something I’m doing wrong. I moisturize my hair like also but my hair did not feel right. Yes it got it straight but if I’m being honest my blower gets my hair straight to and I have never experienced hardness of my hair from a blow dryer. I just followed my gut and decided to return it. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this and doubting themselves because everyone hyped this up but I’m here saying I dont think it’s worth it.

Many just give up on their routines, don’t know how to retain length, or rather do styles they like despite how it’ll effect their hair health. Tbh it’s the same with American white women nowadays. I’m black but I don’t relate to rap culture much. But there are white kids and girls who grew up in inner city neighborhoods and schools where rap culture is prominent. I don’t see a huge issue with them embracing that.🤷🏾‍♀️ I think people of any ethnicity can embrace whatever culture they like so long as they are appreciative. I also don’t like black culture and ghetto being synonymous.

it's also a myth that all european women can grew long hair (up to the waist and longer). What i learned is that a lot of other women enjoy putting other women down, being out of envy, jelousy or just out of spitefulness. See, in my culture (somewhere in Europe), women with long hair are seen as old-fashioned (maybe not any more, but when i was young) and if you have long hair they would critisize you if your hair is too soft and too thin or too straight. Another womans hair is nobodys buisiness, if you cannot say something nice, then say nothing, it's that simple, the same goes for the hole body. I personally think that the natural hair of black women, be it short or long is very beautiful

As an 18 year old that really lives her natural hair and rocks it literally everywhere it has made me see that people really see it as low class. They look at it sometimes with disgust and say things like "why is it so rough". "It doesn't lie flat that isn't cute". "You should incest in a good wig". "You would look so much better with a lace frontal". But thankfully I had my mom and aunty who I wanted love their natural hair while I grew up. My mom had very short natural 4c hair that she cut regularly and my aunty had shoulder length(when stretched) natural hair that was really thick. I never had thick hair and because I never took care of my hair myself, started to have bald spots. But they helped me to love my hair and now taking care of it it is thick and long enough for me and that is what is important. Because I took care of my hair and encouraged myself on this still ongoing journey I have realized that there is really nothing that anyone can tell me that will make me hate my natural hair. Yh she can be tough sometimes and I can have bad hair days but don't we all. Even if someone tells me I have a bald spot in the middle of my hair I'll just say "yh but at least it's MY bald spot and I love her there"

This is super interesting to me: a poor, mixed race bald girl with alopecia. When I first lost my hair I was 15 and my first lace front was used pieces of three different wigs I got for $30 off ebay after selling some stuff to get it. I got on the internet and back then there was a forum called black hair media.com in which had a section on lace fronts that taught me everything I know. Because I came at it from that angle I learned all about tips and tricks for making wigs last as long as possible and how to get really good at dyeing and styling them at home. Now I have a business of making or buying wigs or hair on clearance and custom dying it for other women with alopecia, or who just don't have the money to pay $1,000 for some hair. My current wig I've been rocking for over a year. When I make myself a new one I'll recycle the hair and give that wig to someone who has lost their hair and who can't afford to buy more. The idea of these insta baddies having 5k/10k wigs and wearing them once makes me want to faint.
