      @@muuuh Yes! My daughter and I recently went and caught a whole bunch of them just outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where the river is wild. We released them all after catching them. Catching them has become a tradition of ours. A true treat and joy that we share as father and daughter. 😊

      I love this! The Leopard Frog, however, is rarer around Montreal. So far, I’ve only seen them on two occasions. I’m looking forward to more opportunities to record them in the future. I haven’t been able to spark much interest in frogs or amphibians in general in my daughter, but she willingly accompanies me on strolls through parks here in Montreal. She is, however, very fond of whales. We’re planning to go on another whale-watching excursion soon.

      @muuuh 4 месяца назад

      Hey, thank you for your comment about my video. Yes, you will see whales. I was in Tadoussac in May 2018, and I saw Belugas, Minke Whales, and Humpback Whales. Although my trip was in the second half of May, Belugas and Minke Whales should be there. With a bit of luck, you may spot Belugas even from the coast (North Coast). Your stay will be during bird migration, and you may be able to spot many birds taking a short break before heading further North. Enjoy your stay! BTW: Here my web page with photos muuuh.com/photos/ When you type in the search box "201805" (it stands for year 2018 month 05) you will see all photos I took during my stay in Tadoussac in May.

      Hey Ethel. Thank you so much for your kind comments! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video and you got almost all the identifications right. The third clip shows actually a Fin Whale (letter U). It was an absolute highlight of our trip, as we got very, very close to these huge whales. As for the fourth one, that was a Humpback Whale (letter H). I decided to include this clip specifically because it showcases the distinctive dorsal fin, which is a characteristic feature of Humpback Whales. I'm so grateful for your support and interest in this video. Have a great day!

    Amazing footage! That looks like a huge (do you know what kind?) fish the bird caught! The fish was struggling, but the hungry Heron managed to fully consume (alive?!) it all okay? It looked like the unlucky thing was still desperately kicking inside too! I wonder, does the large fish stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe it can turn around inside the elastic neck/stomach and has a chance of survival here.

    • @muuuh
      @muuuh Год назад

      Hey. Thank you for the kind comment. I'm not very familiar with the fish species in this area, so I'm not sure which one the heron caught. I do though think that the fish wasn't really moving anymore at this stage. Herons spear fish, which means that once caught, the fish is usually heavily pierced and either dead or immobilized. Herons typically shake their head when they catch something. My understanding is that they do this to reposition the fish for easier swallowing.
