Layout almost complete - Update 7 | By PJ
Просмотров 416Год назад
Since my last update in 2020, I have been trying to use my free time to build the infrastructure around the layout. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, weather and unforeseen circumstances it took longer than expected. Now that I have finished the surrounding infrastructure, I am able to begin putting the finishing touches on the layout - Hopefully should be completed soon. Stay tuned for m...

Can’t wait for more updates.
Where do you get the parts to make this or do you make them yourself?
I designed and made it in my workshop.Metal fabrication is my trade. See my video Curved Bridge I made.Thank you, all the best.
Looking forward to your step-by-step. I am just getting started on my layout and am looking for ideas on how to create the rocks, craggy mountains, and narrow canyons I want to put in.
hi Petr, can you tell me how you build that wall with the little stones, i have a picture of the wall but I can not send it to you, everything is so beautiful made, the steal bridge , everything
Great job.
Je to nádhera!!! Tam prostě Česká lokomotiva jezdit musí. Jednu věnuji jako dar na tuto krásnou železnici.
Thank you so much. You are a legend.
Užasné! Doufám že se po kolejišti projede nějaká ta Česká lokomotiva!
Dekuji.Urcite ceska lokomotiva tady jezdit bude.
Nádherná práce!!!
Dekuji,
You've done an amazing job.
Thank you Paul.

Beautiful layout
Wonderful, great job! 👏
Amazing!
What job done! well done!
Looks amazing which suburb are you in in Melbourne?? Looks very green!
Southeast
Awesome job, great eye for detail. Well done👍
Great! 👍👍👍
Great looking rockformations, they reminds me of a place in Germany "Elbsandsteingebirge" it`s called.
Any video of how you puor your sub road bed ,nicely done
Are you casting the rough shape of the “rock” and carving the details out before fully cured? What tools do you use? I see air tool? I like your technique. Similar to the smaller scale RR using foam?
I will be making a video shortly on my technique and all the tools I use :) Thanks for the comment
Amazing 👍👍👍
Fantastic work ....wow 👍👍👍
Beautiful work! Greetings from Slovakia for you and the Czech brothers.
Excellent landscaping!
Legendary
Yes I would like to see your tutorial.
Beautiful 👍👍👍
Thanks. Is the concrete reinforced at all. Would not stand up to a Canadian winter unfortunately. In a previous video you mention they are lemon trees. Do you know the Latin species name?
Yes, roughly 50% of my rocks are reinforced however 50% are not - it just depends on the size and purpose of the rock in my layout. The rock in this video is reinforced at the base with 2mm galvanised mesh and each of the three parts of the rock that stick out of the ground are reinforced by a 6mm galvanised rod through the centre :) In Melbourne we never have weather below 0 degrees celsius so I cannot say how the concrete will behave in freezing conditions... However the only way to know is to do a bit of a test run yourself! The trees I have in my layout are the 'cupressus macrocarpa' (Wilma). They can grow up 4m high so I keep them in modified pots so they don't grow to this size and stay small :) I also trim 1-2 times a year.
@@petrtrain7942 Excellent. Thanks so much for the detailed reply.
I look forward to the tutorials. I'd also appreciate info about the longevity and maintenance of the concrete structures. Perhaps a video all about the plants used would be good as well.
Thank you for those suggestions! The oldest concrete rocks on my layout are 7 years old and I did not do any maintenance on them during that time - in fact the older the rocks are the nicer they look! They are very durable (I could stand on it and it wouldn't break) and need hardly any maintenance at this stage. The only concrete rocks I have had to remove from my layout was because I didn't like my work/crafting, but that's the learning process I had to go through...
qualitativ perfekt
Fabulous work! Way beyond my skills.
Outstanding. You appear to be a master of casting concrete. Those lemon trees look amazing!
Thank you! I did not know anything about concrete until a few years ago when I started working on my layout. I learned the hard way at the beginning by doing things wrong with concrete. I had to reject or repair roughly 30% of rocks on my layout and I think I lost 1 year because of this.
@@petrtrain7942 Well, your learning curve has created amazing results. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
Thank you. I recently finished steel girder bridges, videos are on my RUclips channel
Great job.
Well done. Looks great.
What model train is that?
This is a model of a diesel locomotive ALCO RS 3, made in USA in 1950s :)
Beautiful piece of engineering.👍
😎👍 Wunderbar!
