The first big Dino you see is called a Therizinosaurus! Its a large Herbivore. Their big claws were mainly used to pull down tree branches to eat, but were also used to gore large predators that threatened it. Its also theorized to be pretty territorial, so given the constant gunshots, and carnivores around, it was likely attacking everything around it for its own safety. Likely just as scared as you were. Pretty sure those little ones at the beginning were also its young, due to their slender shape, and long claws for their size. Also pretty sure that Deer was a reference to one of the recent Jurassic Park movies, where it bodied one that got near it for I believe similar reasons. Haven't seen it though so can't confirm lol
