This boat had Hardin Marine tips. I believe the Corsa tips sound better and more pure. IMO

It would be a great video except to was way to zoomed in to see half the video. 😢
Great video man, I have a drive stuck in gear and now I know I can just open the back up and move that shift lever so that I can get the cable off. It won't release allowing me to remove the drive. I too have kids all the time in my videos. lol
Awesome footage, maybe you can make it higher res next time, beautiful running boat...
@@flennboyd6413 agreed! This was taken from my friend I phone. A cleaner video would be sweet!
Nice!! what Prop size and combination are you using??
@Cubano85full bravo 3 with 4x4 hill marine props. Depending on where I go I'll run either 24p or 20p depending on elevation.
@@Slickmick1777 Thanks, good Info.
Do you have measurements for this?
Where are you guys
Utah Lake
@@Slickmick1777 nice! Looks beautiful
Before you put the bellow back in did you slip the bellow on the first or second groove
Hmm I only know of the 1 groove I typically go onto, I haven't recognized a second groove.
It’s probably only on Bravo 2 bellows which apparently should slip past the second groove @@Slickmick1777
I don't think you should be putting it into gear
Why would you think that? 🤔
I'm not sure I heard it before on another video
Looks like the west side of Utah Lake
That would be correct!
That's awesome! I had a 77 with a 302, and it didn't do that at all! So smooth, good job, captain
It was a bunch of work but it was so fun to get some family and friends together putting it back together!
Very smooth
Yes! It sure is a fun boat! Our friends have had it for 30+ years! I remember being a kid in that boat!
@@Slickmick1777 I had an old 16’ tri hull Years ago that originally came with an Evinrude 88 on the transom I replaced it with a 150 E tec topSpeed was amazing, but had to move everyone to the front of the boat until it got on the plane just to keep the bow down lol the boat in the vid seems to love the MerCruiser
Yes it does!
Amazing boat but throw that roll bar tower in the dumpster
We love the tower! We use it too much to ditch it!
@@Slickmick1777 very nice boat though
Thank you!!!!
Nice. Always sound good without the silent blunder. Where'd you get the steps on the trailer tongue?
Thanks man, I built and engineered them myself.
Impressive! Clean! WOW!
Thank you!!!! 🤘👊
Boat looks in amazing condition!
Thanks man! 👊
The Slimer conversion to the GM power plant was excellent. Thing goes like a dart, and parts are available for future needs. Too bad Ford jumped out of the Marine market. Thank you for all of the help with this conversion Eric. Fun project. Lots of late nights, but great conversations and friendship.
It was so fun to build this thing with all of us! Memories I'll never forget!
Works is also acidic..read the label
White vinegar.
Iron out, works great.
I used star brite hull cleaner, it’s almost instant. It was worth the $15. But good to know this works too
Iron Out sprinkled on a damp sponge works too. Wipes stains right off. Nice Formula BTW, I had a 272 SR-1 for many years!
For sale?
As of now no, but you never know!
What motor in it?
This one has theb7.4l lx fuel injected motor by mercruiser
My detent ball is not fixed/ crimped into the sleeve. I noticed both of your ball are still in the sleeve. Is this any issue?
I just swapped out the ball and sleeve with one that holds the ball in. The drive is easier to shift now. Both balls could be pushed in with about the same force, but I guess the side load created by the lever was making it binde some.
is it shifting better now?
Yes
Thank you! After breaking 2 shift cables I found your video and fixed it.
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Just curious of your setup?! Im currently looking at a 97 252br with a 454, what is your average cruising speed and top speed with that boat? And does it handle the chop well?
Hey man! The boat handles phenomenal, esp in chop. Esp if you're used to a 20' foot boat it's a game changer! I cruise in the high 30's low 40's my personal top speed was 62 mph. I have a 454 efi magnum motor in mine. We're actually buying 2 more of these boats to bring back to Utah because they're just hard to beat. But they're also hard to find!
Mines stiff but ball pushes in fine but when I refit it, it seems stiff. I’m wondering if it’s been over greased as it was packed with grease. I’m thinking it might only need lightly oiled ?
It might, give it a shot and see if it's better
Yeah that’s the plan for the weekend. Be a weird fix if that’s the issue.
Does the shifter boot/ bellow keep water out of the cavity? It does not attach to the housing. I am having water somehow get into my detent ball area and then I can't shift the boat. I resealed the cover and drive with gasket maker with no luck.
So typically if your shift boot is bad you get water coming into your engine side of your boat more so than the cavity. But when I replaced the boot with the shift cable it took care of my problem, along it might help to line your gasket with a little rtv to help seal it up if the water continues to be a problem.
Good video, thanks!
Is this brass elbow fitting for a newer bravo setup ? Mine is plastic with multiple seal rings on it
Mine from 95' I'm not sure on the newer set up.
I love that boat
Great informational video, thank you!
Warm housing with blow lamp dont force them bolts .Even boiling water will help
FYI... Your gear lube connector looks MUCH easier than mine (which I think is like most) which is why you hear that it's really difficult. Mine (shown here www.amazon.com/HamornySTR-Mercruiser-Fitting-22-861150T02-fitting-Supersedes/dp/B08628Z7SF ) has an e-clip which is very difficult to get to. Love the video... not too many out there on the gear lube (I've looked!) that's like mine! Thanks!
What is the correct way to fill the Bravo 3 outdrive? Some people tell me to fill from bottom until you fill up the reservoir in the boat, and others say to fill just until you're fluid is coming out of the vent plug... Which way is the correct way? Lol
The correct way is from the bottom up
Stay away from the people who told you to fill from the top down!!!
Do you know if the Alpha and Bravo Bellows are the same? I know with SEI and the china copies say they are but I'm not sure about the actual Mercury/Quicksilver branded ones. My dad has one and wanted to make sure before I started tearing mine apart.
Im not quite sure on that. I'd call your local mercruiser dealership and ask them to verify that.
Where did you get the parts and tool kit? Thanks
I just got the tools online just about anywhere, the parts I got from nuwave marine.
@@Slickmick1777 hi Eric thanks for this video! Maybe you could tell me the measure of the xzn tool to remove the helmet bolts please?
Awesome!
