Hello, I can give some advice on coating HDPE Plastic I got lots of experience painting plastic, wood and metals. I also used to work in a powder coating factory, etc. For coating HDPE plastic I recommend the following steps: Sand to 180 grit or use a BRASS Wire wheel on a drill just till its roughed nicely. ( if your plastic is heavily oxidized from being in sun with whitish color on it then you need to remove the oxidation completely down to the fresh plastic or the coating process may have poor results. ) Then sand to 40 grit. You want to feel a light fur on the plastic with your fingers when its prepped well. Clean with 91% alcohol ( that can be gotten at Walmart or online possibly ) in spray bottle and clean cloth. Apply 2 coats of 3M Primer ( 5 min between coats ) also known as tape primer and acts as a bonding agent between HDPE Plastic and coatings. Let dry about 1 - 3 hrs hrs Then Spray on the herculiner according to their directions. You may want to ad a flex agent to the bedliner incase it's to brittle and chips off. Flex agent can be gotten from a autobody paint supplier. Maybe raptor liner works better for plastic because it's made for plastic to. Oh wow!!! Your whole truck? Just off the top of my head... I can't imagine how much dirt the texture will hold. I guess you can power wash it. But im sure it looks cool.

The finish texture is hard, providing excellent grip and prevents items from sliding around in the bed while driving. I have found it useful when transporting furniture as they stay in place and less likely to get damage.

@@marvinparks8663 get 80-120 grit sand paper.. sand your entire bed or the aurface youre painting. Until its rough not shiney.. Then wipe it down with a clean rag and acetone. Let it dry. Then use a paint brush to dab the edge and stuff first. Then roll the forst coat on. Then let it dry for 4 hours.. then 2nd coat it Instructions are in the kit and all over youtube

Also good thing she used screws. There should be a horizontal 2x4 in the middle of the side walls to help it stay straight as the lumber drys

I built it in 2020, I haven't had a problem, but I will consider your suggestion. Thank you for your input.

I wouldn't count on sealing a hairline crack only because this product is not rubber base.
