This brings me back to the good old days of the St. Charles, Mo. Speedway, now gone, and housing replaced a great 1/4 mile dirt track that raced every Sunday night. Same type cars that you see here. What a blast it was. They raced 3 classes. Bombers, LTD Sportsman, and Modified.

Most of those cars look like they were in the NASCAR modified series back then and one Camaro looked like it went to the NASCAR Sportsman series

I know this is for show and they don't want to wreck any cars or get anyone hurt but if you can't let them put their foot into it there is no point in running these cars. These cars and drivers were beasts and they run these cars like its a powder puff event... Sorry but I want to see them do what they really did back in the day...

ive seen these guys a bunch when i was racing at tracks like waterford, in my opinion the drivers have more respect for each other and their cars then any other series in the area, they drive hard and all the cars make it off the track

Those were the very best times of the Modifiers. The coach body was my all time favorite and the 1936 Chevy body was awesome too. The cost to build a modified was under 10,000.00 Small buck teams were still able to win races. When Ray Miller won the Thompson 300 his team was not a big buck team. Today it is all about the big bucks. There are drivers who race on the tour that are much better then the finished they have but that are not in the big buck cars. That is why there are 2 or 3 guys who win most of the tour races in the Whelrn Tour.
