For a year and a half i've had a love affair with the piano. I cried so hard the day I said goodbye to this piece..to the piano. I already have promised forever to my guitar. A decade after im still crying.

You’re dead
sorry but this guy doesn't get Chopin
since you got Chopin, please help us understand better... could you elaborate your sentence?
Carlo Mercuri Kocsis’ interpretation doesn’t match with what he feels like is Chopin’s spirit and temper. I think that is perfectly valid even If he frased it rather badly.
Thanks for your observation. But I am still a bit puzzled. Nobody is Chopin except Chopin, who can't tell. All the interpretations are personal and equally legitimate. Getting or nor Chopin, is a personal thing. There is no unique way. And this ambiguity is perhaps something which makes Art what it is. Also I believe the performer deserves respect in any case.
well said
Titanic Adventure out of Time anyone?
❤
the interpretations of this piece are ridiculously varied. ive finished it for music festival for my town and want to get to provincials but i dont know what interpretation to go by
Quintin Hansen Follow your hearts way of playing, remember its Chopin, stay to true to him but be yourself
ended up playing it very well my musical genius grandma was in tears, and my piano teacher thought it was perfect. sadly the judge only gave me silver cause she didn't like my interpretation that much
Quintin Hansen Thats great, hate music competition's I find them very subjective, espically in the romantic era.
Makes me cry...so moving melody
It sure sounds alright to me...THANK YOU!!...
hey
I am a violinist but I have always wanted to play with a piano so I love to listen to both ^_^

I guess so
Yes as copyright is deducted 70 years after it's created or the creator dies or something like that
Well I heard that Chopin wrote this just to his fiancé I mean just to tell her goodbye not just good things to play this song to your be love fiancé' it's like you say we couldn't be together no kidding so it's a bit sad melody in this music but it's beautiful to remember by
Well, that is true. He wrote it overnight for her beloved Maria (half italian-polish girl). They were reunited shortly after having studied in the same place as kids, and they instantly fell for each other. They were planning to get married, got permission from their parents, but a sudden abruption forced Chopin to leave to Paris. They somehow knew this would be a "sayounara" case, since due to warfare between Russia and... the whole other world basically (esp. Polland), travelling between borders would become impossible -let alone for a Polish man himself. Maria gave him a stem rose just before his departure, he kept inside his personal mail box until his death. Indeed, it's a beautiful piece. :)
Yes, this is true, he wrote this to his fiance, Maria.
завораживает...
