    Please...why didn't we see any of the inside of the building? Also, the kids don't have to go outside to get to school. There is a hallway built underground. The kids, or anyone just have to go in the hall over to the school.

    I think it would be helpful if you gave us more info on the community. - Why does the entire town live in one building? - Why has no one decided to build their own house? - What do these people do for a living? - Do they all work for the railroad? Thanks

    • @Kaleki935
      @Kaleki935 2 года назад

      1. Because the land is almost entirely government owned and the Begich Towers are simply already there and available. The property that is for sale is divided between 4 residents in the town, including the mayor. 2. See above. The towers are getting harder to maintain every year, once that becomes unsustainable then the town will as well. 3. The harbor brings summertime cruise ship work, the railroad has a handful of jobs but most drive or take the rail to Anchorage for their day job. Don't miss the closing period for the tunnel! Finally, I don't know exactly how many work for the rail but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too many. There's 4 police officers and only one of those lives in Whittier, for a small idea. Most jobs, schoolrooms and businesses just don't have many people
