Yes, all religions are cults that indoctrinate children from before they are able to choose if they want to believe in it or not. Before their mental defenses are up. I firmly believe that everyone should be allowed to believe in whatever they want but religious parents do not allow that because of what I just mentioned.

Yes, any organization that does not allow their children to choose for themselves what to believe in is a cult. Everyone should be allowed to decide for themselves what to believe.

@ChrisTheCasual That's cool 😎 it sounds like a great talk. God will accept that you've made mistakes. He won't accept pride. If you truly want an answer, you have to be willing to truly hear from him. That's what real intent is. It means throwing away what YOU think and hearing what HE has to say about it. Then, being willing to do His will. I just don't see you being in that place yet, Chris, and until you are, I don't think that you are going to hear from the Lord. When the prophet Joseph Smith went to the sacred Grove, he was desperate for an answer! And humble. His family was being torn by religion. Some of his family favored the Methodists, and some favored the Presbyterians, and some didn't want to be baptized, and he was worried about his own sins. He didn't go to God saying, " Okay, I KNOW that such and such is true. You're not going to change my mind about it. But here's my prayer anyway." No, God resists the proud 100% of the time. He resists those who are puffed up in their own wisdom. He draws near to the humble. He draws near to the honest seekers.
