Linda's Hi-Lo Lesson #2
Просмотров 31Год назад
Linda Penzabene continues to learn Hi-Lo later in the same day. I found I had to name each lever to remember how they function. There are 3 levers that don't do what you think they do. Lever 1. I call it "knees and nose". It makes the forks go up and down but the way the lever works seems opposite to the function. Lever 2. I call it "come to me & go away" which brings the panel to you or away f...

These songs are for my family and friends, "Most are no longer with Us" and the people who have been close to me "Through the Lot". They are songs of Love! I do not own the rights to these songs nor claim any. Written by Page, Plant, Jones, Bonham but these versions are performed by my lifelong friend James Kinney.

Are you a. Relation to song writer of “I wish it would rain” ? Temptations ?
@@josephpadula2283 Yes I am! We're first cousins although he was much older than me and I only met him once maybe twice. I have some other videos on here and he's in them as a little boy. I do see one of his sons now and then as we're close in age. He's managing a Jazz Radio station here in Detroit. Wow you're very knowledgeable not only about these ships but you have good taste in music.
@@japzbene1562 Not sure if it was the same spelling but pronounced the same - Had a girl Joyce in my class 3-5 grade with I think your last name in Pitman NJ … All the boys were in love with her that’s why I still remember her name 60 years later !
Well thanks to the internet It was not spelled the same ! Her name was/ is Pensabene Thinks well in Italian .
@@josephpadula2283 That's Awesome! Yeah there are some with that name that lived in the New York area, I don't believe that we are related but you never know, my family ancestors originally settled in Scranton Pennsylvania then some migrated to Detroit in the very early 1900's. And I still remember my first schoolboy crush her name was Doreen. :)
@@japzbene1562 I understand My name is Padula but our relatives in Italy are LaPadula ! Ellis Island change according to family history ….
The group most interested in this film is the Destroyer Leader group. I contacted them by phone and email hope they watch it .
I knew the third captain of this ship , Sheldon Kinney . Became Rear Admiral . Superintendent of N. Y . Maritime Academy , State University of NY . After retirement . President of college ….
Radarman, striker (E-3) - designated RD. Radarman, RDSN (E-3) - designated RDSN. Radarman 3rd class (E-4)- designated RD3. Radarman 2nd class (E-5) - designated RD2. Radarman 1st class (E-6) - designated RD1. Radarman, chief (E-7) - designated RDC. Radarman, senior chief (E-8) - designated RDCS. Radarman, master chief (E-9) - designated RDCM. Duties edit The radarman was generally required to attend and complete a U.S. Navy Class "A" radar school at a designated Naval Training Centers (NTC) in the United States. Once assigned to a ship or shore station, the radarman was required to operate and maintain the installed radar and electronic warfare equipment. Radarmen were specially trained in emergency repair procedures, as their assigned vessels went into combat areas. The Radarman (RD) rating was changed to Operations Specialist (OS) in October 1972, with its operational duties assigned to the OS rating, electronic warfare operation and maintenance to the Electronic Warfare Technician (EW), and its radar maintenance duties to the Electronics Technician (ET) rating. Operations Specialists play an important role with search-and-rescue teams, such as man overboard and directing search-and-rescue helicopters to downed pilots at sea. The Operations Specialist also operates radar, navigation, and communications equipment in shipboard and combat information centers (CICs) or bridges. They detect and track ships, planes, and missiles. They operate and maintain IFF (identification friend or foe) systems. Since changing from RD to OS, the OS rating has taken on more functions or duties. Besides Radar navigation, tactical communications, naval gunfire support, and Air Intercept Control (AIC), the OS now directs amphibious operations, establishes and maintains tactical data links, Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Control (ASTAC), Strike control, and other duties.
A RD rate is an obsolete one converted into OS operational specialist . The operated the radar not repaired it . Not a radio man . Worked in CIC , combat information Center .
USS Mitscher (DL-2/DDG-35), named for Admiral Marc "Pete" Mitscher USN (1887-1947), was the lead ship of her class of destroyer leaders of the United States Navy. Commissioned in 1953, she was later converted to a guided missile destroyer, and served until 1978. She was sold for scrap in 1980. RD is radio man I think .
At 7:13 USS Biddle/Claude V. Ricketts (DD-995/DDG-5), was a Charles F. Adams-class guided missile destroyer of the United States Navy in service 1962 so film is younger than I thought.
This ship was never in pacific .
I found out some further info including name of ship and the person who filmed this and changed the title.
DE-246 USS Snowden at 2:46
