Hello Comment 1: You enter the Amok from one side. Then, close the mosquito net around the footbox, leaving it open on just one side. To reach the zipper, attach a lanyard or something similar. Use your foot to get hold of it, and then when pulling with your hand, press with your foot again to keep the zipper aligned so it closes properly. Comment 2: The Amok outperforms other types of hammocks seven days a week. One key reason is that you can sleep on your stomach or side, which is impossible in other hammocks. The sleeping pad is also a practical solution for insulation, as you can choose your R-value accordingly. It also makes the hammock very comfortable in both the sitting and sleeping positions. @@danneeriksson thx for leaving a comment 👍 I have since this video was shot added a key ring thingy for better reach to the zipper 🎉 I sleep fine on my side in my gathered end hammock also, so I don’t think that is a usp for the flat lay style hammocks such as the Amok or the Haven. @beerfrog_TheOriginal 28 дней назад

Hey, thx for commenting! Yes, in retrospect, the XL would have been a better fit for me I think... As to what I prefer the Haven or the Amok it is hard, I dont think it is a 1-1 comparioson, it rather depends on what you need/prefer. For me, the Amok is better, because of the bigger tarp...also, once I manange to get into it, i find it more comfortable... But the Haven is easier, and if you add a biggerr tarp, and dont mind a bit extra weight....it is a great hammock... But for me the Haven comes 3:rd after the Warbonnet XLC and the Amok.

My biggest problem with draumr 5.0 was that it is so wide and made out of water resistant material. Every drop of water landing in the wings of the hammock will be on your butt. In a rainstorm your tarp must be better perfect, or you end up sitting in a pool of water. Gathered in hammocks firstly have no such area, secondly, they soak through and drip, so you are not so miserable. So I am back to 11' gathered in with a ridgeline and a good thick tarp. My hammock weighs 300 grams, and costs 50 dollar, which allowed me to invest more in a high quality durable tarp.

I bought the Carinthia HUQ a short time ago, and found it to be the worse UQ I have used so far, and wondered if you found this to be the same for you also. The sides of the UQ are so loose cold air gets in and warm air escapes, the foot and head end never really close up to block cold getting in. I tested +17C and my butt and my back was cold all night. How big of a gap do you leave between the hammock and this UQ please. I have budget UQ that are significantly warmer .imho. Any advise or help would be really helpful, I am very experienced with UQs but this one has be baffled....What am I doing wrong..?, or is it really as bad as I think it is. I used the UQ without a pad, as I feel it should work without one, especially in the summer time....MANY THANKS MY FRIEND....bex

This is my first uq so I don’t have anything to compare it to. But 2 things. 1. When I used it the first night I clipped the right and left sides together over my legs with a carabiner to get som extra warmth 2. I have later modded the cords that attach to the hammock gathered ends. This in my opinion makes it easier to adjust and to make more sure it stays more snug around the ends. I have made a video on that mod if that is something you would like to see more about. ruclips.net/video/nNSLnK-V5Ps/видео.html As to lift, I try to get the ug almost towards the underside of the hammock. When I, whilst laying in the hammock, reach in under between the hammock and the uq I have a hand width of space to trap some warmth. But it varies a little. I also recently added an uq protector to get some more shelter from gusts of wind pushing on the uq and escaping some of that trapped warmth. Hope this helps you out Cheers
