Grandnain banana farm.

These grandnain banana bunches were produced early but the quality was not upto the mark. Only the smaller bunches are shown in this video. A combination of bad soil and substandard planting material caused the problem. Irrigation and fertiliser application through drip was strictly followed.

    Nice video...good to see how much they produce! 😲😊 I was wondering are the trees too close together to get enough light to grow at their best? I am just a beginner so I don't know, but it seems like the light is getting almost completely cutoff by the canopy...unless it is warm enough in your area that the soil stays warm and the direct light isn't as important? just curios how much arm reach i actually need for each plant to grow it's best and get light though to warm the base and ground some. it doesn't look like your short on fruit, but there is a lot of trees there that dont have fruit either. - Curious 😊

      I think we followed the 6'x5' spacing for the plants. One advantage is that you don't have to worry about weeds after 3 months. We had lots of sun through out the year so light was not an issue. Temperature ranged from 17 to 35 degrees C. If I remember correctly, 95%+ of the plants gave bunches, most at the same time.

    Labour was not an issue. The main problem was unavailability of reliable power. At times 3 phase power was available for only 3 hours a day. Also the tension prevailing due to the Mullaperiyar issue.

  • @senthilpv7114
    @senthilpv7114 10 лет назад
