Great catches! The high hood is on the Catasaqua and Foglesville secondary for the time being. The Perkiomen railroad goes right through my backyard. Emmaus is a great town for trains!

They most likely already had train orders to flag across that crossing because it was already known to be in inoperative. They weren't blowing for the crossing upon approach so that tells you they knew it already. Former engineer and local to these tracks.
