How did you take the end of the shifter cable out

This guy is an idiot! You can drop the skid plate and disconnect the charge air cooler pipe and move it out of the way. Then you can just reach up and get your fingers on the release.

Please don’t do this. You can use a fifth wheel puller that’s used for pulling the handle on a semi fifth wheel and not do all that damage. It will reach in and open the safety latch

Man that is crazy. There is an easier way. Just unbolt the hood hinge and lift. Then you get to the back side.

As a Volkswagen technician, it’s like that because if you change the oil and haven’t closed the hood yet it’ll still say you have low oil. When you close the hood, which is at the end of the service the light will automatically go off.
