A Campervan With A View
Великобритания
Добавлен 28 фев 2013
I am an A&E nurse who loves to travel in a self build Fiat Ducato, with my dog and companion Charlie. This is a Vlog our travels and the friends we meet along the way. I do try to include any issues that we come across and how we manage to overcome them, there have been some! I hope you enjoy and please leave a comment and subscribe to the adventures.
1st Night out
This was a much needed first night after the lockdown restrictions were lifted. I found a lovely dog friendly cafe at the end of a 3 mile hike.

Show me the light

This was the installation of the lights in the van. I found this idea on another RUclips channel, Overlanding Sophia. I have done a few more changes to the van since the lights. I will show that in the next video.

The last walk of 2019. 2020 will see a lot more of adventures like this, as I walk around the Peak District every month.
Return and return to Scotland Part two and a bit
Просмотров 904 года назад
Second part of my Scotland trip. Meeting with David and Lindsey from Desmond's Dodders and Bernie and Vicky from Campervan Capers. A trip home to England and then a quick about turn and back to Scotland in chase of the Northern Lights.
Return to Scotland Part One

A trip back to Scotland. This time in search of the Loch Ness Monster.
Snowden in a Kilt

I tried this walk a few years ago. But we didn't make it to the top. So I was determined this time to make it to the summit...with the help of Charlie dragging me up and then dragging me down again.
The Haywain

A short trip out. I never seem to know where I am going. Just following the sunshine.
Swivel chair

I had these swivel bases in Matilda. I can only use the passenger seat in Mr Bojangles, because of the unit behind the drivers seat. But it works a treat and I can use the passenger seat to relax in.
Front seats
Просмотров 1155 лет назад
I have been looking for a front single seat for the van. I found a drivers seat at a scrap yard. For £15 it looks and works a treat. I now have a walkway to the rear of the van.
Blue Lagoon Wales
Просмотров 1175 лет назад
A quick trip to Wales. This was not the Lagoon I had in mind, but I think that one is near Snowdon. Maybe next time I will find it.
Jurassic Coast
Просмотров 915 лет назад
This was a boat ride around the Jurassic Coast. I only found out when I got back that I could have taken Charlie on the boat with me.
The Peak District
Просмотров 1745 лет назад
This was a trip to Bunster Hill, in the Peak District. The plan is to do a lot more walks this year. Looking back at the camera work here, I really need to get my gimble out of the closet.

Van looking comfy Stu especially the material and pattern you used for the back wall. I Van life is a true love affair for you and Charlie x
Thanks Mel. I had that material on my bedroom wall for years now. I thought it would look the business in the van
Brill trendy lights Stu. 👍
I found those on another channel called Overlanding Sophia
The van is looking great Stu! 👌
Thanks, we are getting there
@@acampervanwithaview5718 are you on Instagram Stu?
A Campervan With A View is on Instagram, although I don't keep upto date with it. I will begin to change that and post more
Very nice .
Thank you
Nice set of answers there mate. Edit the title to include #vanlifetag it'll bring views in.
Thanks. I have changed the title. Do you put that #vanlifetag in all the up and coming videos?
@@acampervanwithaview5718 no mate. Just this one.
Hello mate, good to see your new van isn't giving you any problems. I followed you in your old Talbot as I had the same van, was great but like yours it's age was leading to problems. I've been converting a newer ambulance since November to live in so fingers crossed it's fairly trouble free too :-)
Hi Scott. The Talbot was my first adventure into vanlife. I loved the van, but the problems were beginning to become expensive. I would love to see some footage of your ambulance conversion.
We were just up that way first week in March, did we miss you? Hope you are keeping well. Van is looking good.
Sorry I missed you
Wow, you must have been up there the same time as us.. We were there last week, shame we could have met up. Take care Stuart xx
I was heading up there in the first week in march, more like thursday the 5th before I got up that far though
HI! COOL CUP AND VIDEO! INVITING TO CHECK OUT MY VIDEO AND RING THE BELL! THANKS!
FIRST THUMB UP
Have you got the gear box oil change video
That was an old project Jess. That van has now gone to the graveyard. But I did change the oil after I put the gearbox back in
I didnt do a videao of that one. But there is a plug near the bottom of the gearbox, just remove that and squirt in gearbox oilthen once it starts leaking out, thats it full, replace the plug...job done x
Well that’s another step to perfection 🚐☕️☕️👍🏴
Some great shots. Looks like a beautiful place, ill have to try this walk myself. Just liked and subbed, looking forward to see where you will walk next. Always good to get ideas :) Keep up the good work!
Its a nice place. I have been here a few times now.
Nice video. Well done. Subscribed to the channel. ✌️
I am back in Scotland soon , for another long trip
Thanks for sharing your walk Stuart. Been to some of those places in the past.
Look a good walk Stuart , I wish I could walk distances. There’s a lot I miss. Stay safe🚐☕️☕️👍🏼🏴
I have set a goal to make myself walk distance. I miss not being able to run, but hey life changes as we grow more mature mate.
My problem Stuart is that I was born with club feet and they have never worked properly. So I would like to walk distances but never could. So I don’t miss what I never had. But love to nose in on your travels. Good luck with them and stay safe 🚐☕️☕️👍🏼🏴
It's not the most photogenic hill.. I grew up around there
Can you mention some other hill walks around there. Nothing too difficult, but some that are a bit of a challenge. Cheers mate. Happy new year.
Drive to Edale walk up Grindslow Knoll and onto Kinder Scout www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14192
Edale,Kinderscout 👍
Looking good Stu, nice when a dog pulls uphill ha ha. Wow, that road has seen better days! Happy new year mate.
That is a great spot to see the para gliders Bry. Now that is something I want to try. Do you think they will let me take Charlie up there with me?
@@acampervanwithaview5718 ha ha, he would probably go as well....it isn't for me, but I see Sandy [Wiltshire man] does it.....good luck!!
Last time we were there the main falls looked like that second shot you took just a trickle LOL. Was great to meet up again down south, hope you had a good time in the Peak District.
When I found this water fall, I was actually looking for a Loch Nee monster hunter. The Peak District was fantastic. The video should be out now. Have you finished your English tour yet?
@@acampervanwithaview5718 Yes we are at home and catching up with all the videos I missed while travelling :-)
Cant beat the views round loch ness, wet dog = condensation in my van when the dog gets her way, lol.
The views were fantastic and so peaceful. Sharing the adventures with the dog makes for a wonderful life.
Charlie is not a doughnut :-) Nice one Stuart :-)
It really is an affectionate term for my gorgeous friend David
Stuart, did that walk on 24th dec....4 years ago....its not easy... so well done mate...xxx
Wow that's something to do on Christmas eve. Great idea Colin.
Well done both of you. You must have been bloody freezing Stu. Hope you wore thermals underneath. I tried when storm Brian was brewing and had to stop and walked back. But will go back and conquer like you both did. Well done👍😁
NOOO thermals Mel. If you do it again give me a shout, love to do the walk with you x
Nice video :) Brings back memories .I've been up Snowden several times back in my youth.......Never saw anything but the fog and the rain. I did once climb Tryfan on a sunny day though .
I used to do a bit of hill walking in my youth too, but I am determined not to let the greying hair stop me now. I'll have a look at Tryfan.
Well Done Stuart, I wouldn't even attempt it let alone achieve it.. Well done Charlie for getting you there and bringing you back safely x
That dog is a diamond. Ben Nevis next.
Well that is one way to do it. Your must have been freezing.
Do you know that Kilt was surprisingly warm. A nice draft, but warm.
@@acampervanwithaview5718 Yes a kilt can be warm but your lower legs must have been cold :-)
Nice one. Thanks for sharing.
We need to share our travels, so we can find inspiration
nice little park up Stuart...nice views as well. cheers
I think I have been there before. A really peaceful place
Not bound to know LOL. Looks like coastal defences from WW2 though. Reve from Poshcats will know :-)
I think you are right david
Nice job Stuart!!uxh more practical!! 👍🚐❤
I works a treat now, No more climbong over the double seat, or getting out in the rain
You have just reminded me I need to go and fix mine after the weekend LOL :-) Never ending list of jobs at the moment.
A lovely weekend, thanks David. The are always jobs to be done.
where did you get the part from mine needs doing
HI Chris. I used to go to Coastal motorhomes. They do virtually everything for the Talbot Express and the fiat Ducato. coastalmotorhomes.co.uk
Not best practice to have split charge relay under the bonnet. Well that’s what a local electrician told me.🚐☕️☕️👍🏴
An ex AA man helped me fit that there. But thanks for the advice, I think I will move it. I want to put a cut off switch in too, turn it off when I am parked up for some time. Cheers Chalky
I have one a 1985 b reg ..have problem staring .can I see in under ur bonnet ples
Sorry Ray the Talbot has gone to the scrap yard. I am now driving a 2006 Fiat Ducato
@@acampervanwithaview5718 why
Excellent, love the seat covers.. the van is coming together nicely Stewart. Thanks for the catch up :-)
Cheers Lindsay. The van is just about there
Looks great and more room and access as well :-)
