    Great video…I’d have to disagree with being able to “figure out” by reading the question. It’s a literal crapshoot for a lot of the questions even for someone that studied 20% of the material.

If you want to make it in door to door solar sales you need to know it’s a numbers game, if you knock enough doors everyday 6 days a week the results will follow! Hi Connor, How would you recommend getting appointed as an independent agent who wants to stay independent? Should you go with a cluster, find an IMO or are there direct appointment carriers out there? Cheers!

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik 20 дней назад

      My recommendation would be to prioritize meeting with as many agents and brokers as possible and choose to work with whomever you feel most inclined to work with based on your goals, and let the consideration of it being a cluster or IMO be an after thought. Because when you're starting out, probably the most valuable thing you can to is find an OG in the industry to learn from. There are a few carriers that appoint directly, but your career will likely accelerate much more quickly if you prioritize finding a top notch sales person to learn from.

    lol no solar company is the best, they are all full of it. They all have pros & cons. I was working with this company for the last 6 years but my last two installations they took over 7 months! Then I applied at another company, they made go through their bullshit ra ra meeting for an hour and a half. Then during the interview the DM is undermining my extensive experience. The last thing he told me was that he was going to talk to the higher ups to see if they were hiring. F that douch bag! So why did I just go through a job interview?! So the morale to the story is go with what feels right and don’t let some pencil neck, spaghetti arm having piece of 💩 disrespect you. He call me two hours later and didn’t pick up. Energy never lies.

    I just started with Ion, and im skeptical about their ethics. Their panels cost homeowners about 2x the industry standards, at about 5.65 ppw which is not only misleading to homeowners but also lowers the close rate as people are shocked to see the actual monthly price after we assure them we’ll lower their bill. They also tell homeowners that it doesn’t matter if they’re planning to move soon, yet I’m a realtor and ik this to be untrue. Opinions?

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik 5 месяцев назад

      That's exactly why I've jumped around from so many companies over the years. They all sell the dream and then you realize a lot of the sales tactics can be borderline unethical. I got tired of having to walk that fine line everyday to earn a paycheck, so I got out of solar and insurance industries. I've been selling fiber optic internet over the past year because it's something that everyone actually wants and the commissions have been pretty good in the industry.

      There's always more solar to be sold just like any product, but in my opinion the solar gold rush days have passed. You can definitely still make a living selling solar, but personally I've decided to explore other business opportunities. Fiber internet is a popular door to door product right now. Some companies have great commission structures and it really sells itself because everyone needs it and they don't have to take out a $40k loan.

  • @OMspot2277
    @OMspot2277 6 месяцев назад

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik 5 месяцев назад

      At the end of the day, it comes down to the company that you're working for, their commission structure and the time to install from initial contract. Every company is different, my advice is to talk to several companies and compare the details of their commission structures. See which one makes most sense for you.

      Connor your video has been so insightful, THANK YOU. I’d like to follow upto this question! When you say local agency, within that same agency can you potentially work as either W2 or 1099? I currently have a full time job & want to start this on the side as a broker (as I don’t think I could commit to being a W2 employee for another company on top of my job), but I’m not sure how to start? A friend has offered me to join a company that has good support/community/tech & you’re able to work & contract with many companies, as well as make money if ppl join you (although not the focus) & I like the idea of that support/guidance they offer, but also not sure if a local agency would be a good fit? I’m not sure what setting would work for me bc I would need to keep a very flexible schedule since I work 40+ hours

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik 5 месяцев назад

      @@jenniferpena3858 You’ll almost always be 1099 unless working for a corporate State Farm or Allstate type agency. I would recommend trying to jump on one of the team sales calls with that company and feeling it out before committing. I’ve found that to be very helpful when trying to choose a sales organization to work with.

    Just got into the game. I did a week long blitz for home security systems and that was not my jam. Ended up having a mental health crisis because of it. Now I am a much stronger individual and I'm knocking 600 doors a week. The fields have been plucked bare of the easy wins but there are still pockets of untouched homeowners and people READY to go solar. Even scavengers can make good money by committing to spending 4-5 hours canvassing 5 days a week and following up on appointments. Walk, Knock, Inform, Schedule and let the Closers work for their money.
