Enjoyed this... Joel and Ben did ever get that voice that says "why would anyone consume my content" or "how is my content unique". Content has been consideration for awhile but that voice in my head says "no one cares about what you have to say". Did you have to overcome this or is this a case of realistic self-evaluation, ha?
Dont laugh. I get that even today when I am posting! lol What I have also started to see, content that gets very little likes but has high interaction behind the scenes.
Very insightful! Merci :)
Good one fellas
One of the most insightful episodes, in my opinion. It’s definitely one of my favorites, especially for the discussion on flow.
good episode Self development is key
Great webinar. Thank you for the great replies and the information.
I love Benjamin’s interviews but sometimes he allows his guests to elaborate too much in certain areas…lol…interesting interview
I really appreciate that you have watched/listened to enough of them to know that I struggle sometimes with conversations. It is something I think about and try to improve on. I always worry when I am a guest, because I am not really good on the fly. Its something I am going to keep on working on and I REALLLY DO APPRECIATE you following along this journey! You rock!

How do you know what niches are spending a lot of money on direct hire fees beyond the examples he used ? Anyone tracking this ?
Part of the art of recruiting…you have to learn the spaces. Do your research…don’t believe everything everyone says in an interview…Scope the industries for yourself.

Fantastic Unexpected Journey!
SORRY SLURRING IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE GET RIDOF VIDEO FLASHES AND STUPID CLICKS.
What an amazing interview.
Great episode!
I know the pain being a solo recruiter when candidate say no after getting offers.
I can imagine man! Just gotta keep grinding! 🔥
Phenomenal interview.
Really enjoyed this Zaharo! Also thanks for the shoutout. Your focus on doing things simple was really helpful.
My God. What a story. Thank you for telling your story.
Call their bluff. It would cost them more money to try the case than any monetary benefit of you working in “competition “ with another company. You didn’t break any “law”. They are preying on your fear, give them the War they want. It doesn’t cost you anything. They have to file the motions and incur the costs- for what benefit?
Awesome, I love these. Thank you. I'm based out of Thailand but great move to go from contingency to retained. I've never done retained before.
The Robert Half story seems unlikely. Probably bitter she got fired.
I'm a former RH guy. She's not lying.
Great job fellas. Oops, I connected with Casey without a message. Yo, the Quarterback Dadcast isn't on YT?????
This is why you don't make friends at work they spy on you and are messy
In Texss non-competes aren't really very enforceable. The courts typically rule in favor of the defendant. This is because no employer should be able to keep you from working in the industry of your profession.
But worker's unions are somehow a _bad_ thing? Make it make sense. We are being had. How do so many of y'all not see it?? 🤦
Bad for the customers of the business. Good for the employees of the business.
@@curiously-cinnamon They can be good until they become too costly. Hence why so many manufacturers move to Mexico or overseas.
Non competes were usually thrown out. Luckily now they can't have you sign them.
It sounds like that law is getting thrown out based on a court case from last week. I think we will all be watching what happens with it
the greed of shareholders knows NO bounds.
Sacco and Vanzetti died for nothing. Shame on you all. Just come back to your real country and leave the united slaves of expropriated native americans land.
As of may 7th of this year the FTC banned (even retroacttively to all except executive management) all non competes in the US
Yep, and Texas has overturned that, and of course that means that federally it's been halted. Because if one red state says no, all the other states have to obey apparently.
Legally change your name
The moment you are fired they can’t win
But the thing is the whole legal process is draining both financially and physically, so not everybody will have the resources to go through that
@Discarnick with you on that. It’s crazy how expensive it really is!!!
@@Discarnickai is really good a legal issues
Good luck in 2024...did she says how things were going the past 12 months?
Great story and great timing! Good one, Ben.
I'm not seeing where the site search is working. If I put in his format and searched network engineers, I would see a bunch of results for network engineer pages but no individuals that had network engineering experience.
Im in manufacturing and pretty much everyone at my hob does this. I love it so much. Its like 'hey, might be easier to do it this way.' Even when you mess up, they lead you to the right answer instead of lecturing. Some of the more experienced guys, when they have time, will do impromptu lessons to explain why things are done a certain way or how something works. Very wholesome. Best job ever.
This was such a great pod! So much value! Casey genuinely seems like a great guy!
This is one of my favorite episodes. Listening to this podcast is like pursuing a master's degree-it's packed with valuable insights. Given the depth of information, I limit myself to one or two episodes a day to fully absorb the content. Episodes like this are worth listening to multiple times. It's incredible to live in an era where such passionate, free resources are available. Thanks a lot, Ben!
This discussion raises interesting points, but it's important to consider how AI might impact different areas of recruiting differently. If I had worked at a large tech company with one of the most highly structured recruiting processes where my role was a small cog in a big machine, or if my career largely involved RPO services without the real selling (let's not pretend RPO is as same as selling perm on contingent or retained basis), relationship-building, and nurturing that professional or executive search firms do, I might see things differently. While AI can enhance efficiency and handle repetitive tasks, it cannot fully replicate the nuanced decision-making, empathy, and ethical oversight required in recruitment. The guest's claim about AGI by 2027, based on Metaculus predictions, is highly speculative, considering the significant technical and economic challenges that remain. Metaculus has previously overestimated progress in areas like AI benchmarks and compute capabilities and made incorrect predictions, such as the likelihood of Kyiv falling to Russia in 2022 and the timeline for AGI advancements. I am not saying AI won't make a difference, but the future recruiting, and any other professions for that matter, is likely to be more nuanced; requiring a balance of AI tools and human skills is my point. Even if AI did replace us for the sake of argument, I fundamentally disagree with the idea that UBI will lead to a utopia where we all live happily. I support taking care of people and equality, but I can't take seriously the notion that "the wealth and the sort of monies are going to need to be redistributed in a clever way." What is "clever"? And who gets to decide it? And I'd take the opinion of someone who believes UBI is the ultimate solution for a bright future and personal fulfillment with a great deal of grain of salt.
I agree 1000% !!!
If you've been layed off, do you tell your interviewer that in your interviews? Or do you bs and say you left for whatever reason?
Love the new intro!
Thank you so much brother!!!
Hey Benjamin, I was hoping you might be able to link the tool that Chris referred to "Talent". I was able to find the others but as you might imagine, talent is a fairly vague term to Google ha.
@TechJobberPod maybe you can help with this!
Ben, I think this is some of my favorite content. No BD?! First time hearing that and love it. Build real relationships and it can happen. Thanks for posting!
You are welcome!
They can purchase Tesla from a bot…there is not price haggling allowed relative to that vehicle.
Can you tell me your thoughts about Gov Contracting?
I love the future and past Andrea concept. This was a great episode!
Thank you!
@@TheEliteRecruiter No seriously, thank you! I'm a recruiter digital nomad from the US living in Thailand and I hear about you a lot from other recruiters here. Thank you for all you do.
@@TheEliteRecruiter I used to work with Andrea also. She is mind blowing. Even I use a vision board now :)
AI is nice. But it ultimately ruins your craft and communication skills in the long run. If you want to be a professional, then be PROFESSIONAL. In a matter of months, these peoples skills will start to diminish, especially when they have to get on the phone…. If you don’t use it, you lose it.
I think AI is going to change the game and get rid of a lot of order taking recruiters. But people who are skilled on the phone will be able to bill even more!
@@TheEliteRecruiter I disagree, I think it’ll make lazy recruiters even more lazy. Typically people in our industry that like to cut corners will always find a way to do so. It’s unfortunate, but it gives us the elite more leverage when working with our clients because we provide such a high-level experience. Executive search for professionals will always find a way to dominate their market. AI is a tool and NOT a crutch. #happyhunting
@@alexphelps5955 I see where you are going and you are right about that. I have seen people with no experiance in recruitng trying to figure out how they can make $50K a month "automating" everything. Sorry, wrong business for that. You are dealing with the variable of people. I do agree with you.... sooooo many people in our space look for shortcuts when the secret is hard work.
@@TheEliteRecruiter Yes, it predominantly happens because shortcuts are highly appealing in today's market. People are often looking for the easiest path to success, prioritizing quick results over the hard work necessary to achieve long-term goals. There's a lot of talk about maintaining a high quality of life and work-life balance, but it often feels like an excuse to avoid putting in the necessary effort. However, if you have a great mentor who might be considered "old school," you'll be much better off in the long run. These mentors have a wealth of experience and knowledge that can guide you through the complexities of your career, teaching you the value of perseverance and dedication. I really appreciated that you had Steve Finkel on. He's precisely the kind of mentor you want to learn from, someone with a deep understanding of the industry and the ability to impart invaluable wisdom.
Well said. Collaboration and Transparency
Very interesting interview…Thank you!
I agree with his final comment
