I love this version of the phantom. The phantom steals my heart. Raoul in this movie seems like such a coward not to go after Christine below when he's told by the police, "I assure you, you will not return alive," or something, and then he looks conflicted. Erik has the superior talent, brains, wisdom, courage, the restraint and character of a gentleman, the mature love, and he proves he will do anything to help her. (okay, I know, I know, some people get killed in the process...I'm half-laughing here.) Raoul is a rué or a rake who claims he's reformed. (They aptly chose an outwardly gorgeous Raoul.) Ugh! Christine, don't see?! You can open your mouth and lovely sounds come out, but are you blind to what a unique being Erik is also! He's so sensitive and gentle to you, Christine, and gives you everything!💔

The Sora one has been debunked. He doesn't wield a Keyblade because his heart connected to Ventus's. He has one cause he acquired Riku's in 1, it went back to Riku, but later decided that Sora's heart was more worthy and stronger and went chose Sora permanently. His Keyblade is only because he has a strong heart with the connections of his friends.

What i dislike about this version is this whole thing with Erik's mother. Gerard's "plot twist" was ok, he is like a replacement for Daroga. But the fact that, originally, Erik was abused and despised by his own mother was an important part of his character. He was a child that grown up without any sense of love, affection or protection. But maybe his mother being a good person is the reason why Gerik's mental health is *considerably* better than Leroux Erik's. What really messes up is this whole "Christine looks like his mother" thing... or rather "she is his mother reborn"... it's so weird 💀 and it literally ruins the conception of Erik falling in love with Christine for what she truly is, a kind, naïve and talented woman.
