this is the newer 1.0 ford ecoboost engine that has a timing chain. however ford have seemingly made the oil pump even worse this is a 2019 with less than 30k miles.

😍😍😍🤙🤙🤙
Epic mate 🤙
👋🎉🇸🇪🤘🥂🍾
Great to see you back
So is it only the autos that have the balance shaft assembly?
Forgot to ask, does the chain ecoboost have that stupid floating crank pulley with the reluctor pickup on it?
This is what wrong oil does. Got a 2020 50k Focus 1.0 Ecoboost (B7DA chain drive) with P0524 low oil pressure - also showing 0psi oil pressure, phasers sound knocky. From what I've seen this is quite common if not serviced or wrong oil used. Apparently happens sooner on the autos than the manuals.
Looks as shit as the Pure Tech 1.2
No disrespect intended, but I don't believe this!
Out of interest, what was the mileage on this emgine?
Is this the version with the 7 gear 7dct300 automatic transmission or 8 gear conventional automatic?
what is the mileage of the car?
@michalmichal4127 if I remember it was 27k
What a pile of junk!
Ban maintenance by the looks of that, I’ve I’ve seen 75k better than this 🤔
Cant maintain something that has a recall lol. This was a garbage idea and Ford should have known better. These cars are having this issue with less than 50,000 mi on them
There ain't no recalls in uk only USA. Ford are shitting themselves in Europe as there's millions of thec3 cylinder ecoboost engines. Only 140,000 of them in the USA so not a disaster for Ford in USA. As for uk they don't give a shit and tell people they can't and won't do anything until something happens. They say they will assist - God knows what is meant by that. Basically their saying they won't just payout willy nilly. The joke is that when something happens which is what they are saying the belt will fail and so will the engine thus needing a new engine which will cost thousands to take out damaged engine and fit a new engine. If they get the 2 belts changed it costs approx.1,300 as its around an 8 hr job to do.
Thanks, a very honest and revealing vid. Ford seem to wanna throw their excellent reputation in the bin. Shame. The Ford 4 cylinder engines always lasted forever. Crazy.
Life saver. Thanks, couldn't figure out mine. Sorted now 🙏
The rust says ouch
Engineers never learn
Really nice catch! I believe the procedure is mentioned in the Ford Service/Workshop Manual?
The manuals are missing both the tensioner and the ballancing shaft. Therefore, there is less stress on the oil pump belt. I believe it is significant less stress, which helps the belt work for longer. However, it is easier to drop the sump on these new engines because there is nothing in the way (no exhaust pipe) so it might be worth checking the belt before 100.000 km. By the way, I read that the sump bolts must be replaced if removed. Is this true? Why? What are they made of, aluminium or steel? Thanks!
My civic 1.4 is a 9th gen 2012. This one looks different is this 8th gen? The hatch part on my car is a pain in the ass to remove.
I think the problem is, they employ fresh out of school wannabee engineers, who only use computers. Cause the computer says it works they believe it. Bit like the thousands who use SatNav thinking its right! Ford should own up, like VW/Audi did after dieselgate and refund or help the customer out .. cause if they dont, they will end up with no customers!!😂
Why Ohh Why only fit one chain, FFS Fit 2 FORD
Nobody wants they’re eve’s and the same with these stupid designs
My only concern would be , seeing that the engine oil strainer was so blocked . Would this not also have caused oil starvation concerns and possible internal damage to the engine and other components ? based on the cooling system issue as well , and the cost of the repairs so far , there is a potential that this could amount to a more substantial repair bill in the near future .
all ways a risk there was no pil pressure faults surprisingly and no signs of engine wear.
Are there any other companies that use this wet belt system?
psa group.
@@bathlanegarage9797 Thank you for info
Thats a lot of damage 😮
As a highly experienced and Tech guy, I can confirm that the eco boom engine is the worst pile of shit ever designed. It is truly a chocolate engine.
Ford to lose even more customers. Serves them right.
Oh wow nice cabin!!!
I know someone who has a 1.0 ecoboost eco sport, He drives up and down the country often and gets car serviced twice a year and has had zero issues and it's a 2016 model.
yup regular servicing is essential
I have a 2015 focus eco boost over 100 thousand miles and never had a issue. I have had regular oil changes with the right oil that is essential.I had the sump off and checked my pick up it was clean
@LesBootle56 yes wrong oil, lack of servicing and e10 fuel all cause early degradation of the belt.
What a performance save that hassle buy a toyota
Thanks for the info. It’s difficult to get any accurate info in this ongoing disaster by Ford.
Ford does not want to talk about this.
Yes, am really worried am In market to buy this type of car !
This is all to familiar here at SIERRS’R’US we see and do these every day good to watch my friend
I'm not a specialist, so i don't understand why they kept a plastic belt.. If the belt is remplaced by a chain, where does this 2nd belt comes from ? Thank you.
2nd belt runs the oil pump!
@@bathlanegarage9797 alright! And of course, this belt soaks in oil... Shitty design.. I've always wondered what kind of engine I have. My focus is from 2019, but maybe was conceived in 2018... That's the year of the shift. I've seen somewhere that chain engine doesn't have the big metal thing in front of you when you open the front of the car.... But not sure...
@tokiwi_ I've seen chains from 2018 onwards. if turbo is at front yiu have belt turbo at back of engine you have a chain
@bathlanegarage9797 can't tell... My car is at the garage RN, problème with oil pressure... So can't check. Thanks anyway!
1.25 engine is far better
Epic 🤙🤙🤙
How’d that happen? Doin a little off-roading on a stock suspension.
its a truck that's worked on tracks fully loaded with 3 tonne trailer.
Pure garbage😖🤮 great video and thanks for sharing
Poor engineering by ford yet again
Ford, never. The Ford engineers and managing team that designed this turkey series of turbo four cylinder engines should have their certifications withdrawn. If they still work for Ford, I would have to wonder why? The vehicles are admittedly very appealing, but so are poison apples.
Should be more like, maintain your car
Wow, just when I thought engineers couldn't be any more retarded... oil pump BELT??
Loving the cosworh resto - look forward to seeing all the work 👌🏼 I want one even more now !!
Nice work
Great video mate👍
Good to watch. Looking forward to the next one
Mint lads, proper enjoy this 🤙🤙🤙
