Stoplight Arete | Gariwerd
Climbed/filmed/edited in Gariwerd, the land of the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung people. Always was, always will be.
I loved this boulder. This was the first v10 I ever tried and the one I've put the most sessions into. The way most people do it never felt possible for me (because short) so had to find my own weird way up it. Managed to top it out on a sleepy session after a day of work. The experience reminded me of how lucky I am to have boulders like this virtually in my back yard, and how grateful I am to climb here.

Twelfth Night Sit Start, First Ascent

This is a problem I did the first ascent of a few days ago that meant quite a lot to me. A fairly long standing project at Mount Macedon, it was an obvious undone line sitting on a boulder that I’ve visited many times in the last 5 years. Over that time, I’ve looked at it, touched the holds, tried to pull on once or twice and genuinely thought I would never be capable of climbing it. I came bac...

A boulder I did recently out at Mt Alexander (Leanganook) Really loved the process of working on this. the grade could be harder or easier. I think you can skip some of the foot moves if you're taller but some of the other moves might be harder. Its a great line in a great place on pretty great rock for the area, get on it!

The goat strikes again! Keep it up Fraser!
That looked really hard, maybe next time you should put the pegs in 👍🏼
nice beta!
In awe of you 🧡☀️🌙✨💙
this was is super groovy ❤
Absolutely outrageous mantle hahaha
Hell yeah, such a good vid and ascent! I've just started working this, two sessions in now. Last session I swapped my feet to what looks like your beta, left foot pressing, right toe hooking. Managed to get my butt off the ground properly and faux throw for the undercling. The left hand start hold is soo cool, I almost want to 3D scan it.
sweet! have you kept working on it?
@@frasergust No I haven't been out there for ages now! I assume it's too wet/mossy until it warms up?
Really well done Fraser, very proud of you!!
found myself in need of a bigger chalk bag at the gym, considered buying one before realizing I could just make my own unique version. Awesome tutorial, it helped a lot!!
Great video and great effort Fraser!! Very proud of you! Hope to get a repeat some day 😊
Such a great send! There's plenty more desperate problems waiting to be sent up there!
great climb! loved every part of this vid
Huge send!! And the editing and music is stunning. Lotta love from 🏴
Strooonng! How on earth do you keep your wits going that high up without spotters?
and with TWO pads???
Thanks for the video and the pattern, I really appreciate all the work that went into this! I made a couple modifications to make it suit me a little better, maybe they'll suit someone else too. 1. I used an old fleece jacket for the liner. 2. I used a piece of 1cm elastic to make the brush holder strip. I sewed dividers at a few different widths, which I hope will accommodate most any brush (especially with stretch). 3. I added 5cm in height to all vertical panels in order to make it so I could make a roll top. I thought this would be enough for two rolls but due to the thickness it only allows me to do 1 roll. 4. I added a piece of webbing and a buckle to each end of the roll top so I could keep it rolled (similar to an Organic chalk bucket). 5. I added velcro along the whole closure of the pocket so it is more secure.
Thank you for the extra details. Immediately thought of a roll top and you answered my question.
@lolmatthoffman was 1 roll adequate? Or do you wish you would have been able to do 2 rolls? I’m contemplating adding an extra 5 or 10cm to do 1 roll or 2. Your extra tips are super helpful!
I feel like a total idiot here but I don't know how to make the 15cm bottom line and the 22cm sides line up. HELP. What is the distance (in a straight line) between the 9cm top and the 15cm bottom?
Help coming a bit late but for future people who encounter this problem. Take the bottom line and divide it by 2 (=7.5cm) cause we wanna find the middle. Mark the middle, draw a line up (22cm). And then go 4.50cm to the left and 4.5 cm to the right (=9cm)
I love this so much

That moment when toping out on a highball slab. Contrats !
This is a fantastic video - bravo!
I'm hoping to get round to making one of these in the near future! I think I'm going to attempt to extend the top so that it can be rolled down and clasped for a more secure closure system, kind of like a dry bag 🤔 Hopefully I'm not overestimating my abilities!
Neat video... well done. I've been wanting to make snow pants from an old sleeping bag for years. Finally, got back on the free sewing machine fix which is landing me way more machines that I expected... though did get me stitching. Now to stare more at the bag of repairs to do and other ideas to reflect on following through on. Gets me thinking more like an expedition snow suit would be a great project too along with the more recent can use project... garden/lawn tractors seat covers and covers in general.
just finished making mine, so stocked on it. thank you so much for the instructions and design. happy sending
Amazing! Thank you so much!!

I watched this video a couple of months ago but just couldn't get round to it. Yesterday I finally had the time to go to a thrift shop to get some old jeans and a trippy corduroy pillow cover. I'm really happy with the result thanks for the instructions! As a small bonus pocket I used the back pocket of the jeans as one of the side panels :p
Hell yeah!! I love hearing this I'm glad it was useful
Shout out to the copies of Cherub and Artemis Fowl on the shelf, my two favourite series as a child :)
Thank you!
I just bought a machine and learned to sew to make this. Outer bag made from an old pair of work pants. I'll send a pic on insta soon!
that is so amazing to hear, would love to see!

fraser I need your vibe come to the southern appalachians and boulder with me :-)
Nutritious ~
I wish my local climbing culture was this tasteful. It seems the area is lacking in spirit :-/
I've been scoping out Japan for some time and only recently became aware of the bouldering scene there. It looks delightful. I want to go.
Nice! Thanks so much :) Planning on trying out your pattern if I have the time.
Awesome Fraser!! Love how you're using second hand materials and the webbing. The denim is a great idea! I might steal that
i am thoroughly impressed at those sewing skillz
