I'm old enough to remember that Cinnamon Schnapps was a thing in the USA in the 1980s, again mostly consumed in shots by youngsters and older folks with child-like palates; so these can definitely be perceived as a continuation of of that.

Fun, but this stuff has about as much to do with whiskey as mouthwash. In fact most should consider this something like drinkable mouthwash. As far as I can tell this is mostly consumed in shots by youngsters and suburbanite swingers.

I had a more recent batch of Allt Glean from about a year ago and I found it smokier and preferable to Talisker. I thought it had a somewhat richer character to the peat/smokiness. Looking forward to getting another bottle in the future!

Allt Gleann is one of two 'burns', which provide water to the Torabhaig distillery.

I'm a Di Amore fan myself, but I have not tried these two. Obviously, I've had Disaronno.

For me this feels like drinking natural spring water. Definitely class above the normal stuf like Smirnoff, Russian Standard or Finlandia for example. Also as said in video it's very good at room temperature. Top class !

Second fill Thiron oak would make more sense than virgin oak in my opinion.

I just picked up this whisky for 13USD and for what it is... its not that bad. I would say its a very light and easy drinking whiskey that I would say lends itself best to being drank neat, on the rocks or in a whiskey forward classic cocktail. I would say for the price this is redeeming Canadian whisky slightly. I would love to see a version of this around 20 dollars that is a slightly higher proof around 90-100 proof but probably no more than 100 proof. Nose - Light honeyed vanilla, light nose Palate - Spicy cinnamon oak influence, somewhat berry floral. Overall for me lacking in complexity Finish - Tannins, Spiced Oak, light fruit with a lingering light sweetness. Again nothing offensive about this whisky, easy drinking almost water like so I would say a good introductory whisky.

Managed to bag a bottle of this on a deal for 16 quid, I’m looking forward to trying to make a pbj shot with it

I loved my first bottle so bought another 2 , not really sure about the second bottle it’s nothing like I remember, going to leave it a while on the shelf to see if it calms down

if you had to chose only one, would you go for Lindores Abbey Casks of Lindores Oloroso Sheery or the Lochlea Fallow Edition - 2nd Crop?

You're right, Ben. When ex-Bourbon oak hits that six-row barley Indian malt spirit then much tropicality ensues. I've loved it in Amruts, Paul Johns, and in the Indri Trini. I'm yet to try the Dru. The only one I had trouble with was the Rampur ‘Select’. Just a bit too much mango skin and this really sets in as an aftertaste.

Not sure how sweet that is but Skrewball is pretty sweet. I also like it better chilled but have to cut it with a half shot of regular whiskey. Never heard of Sheep Dog but we found have a line of flavored whiskeys called Bird Dog. Crown Royal Blackberry with lemonade is all the rage right now. Very refreshingly dangerous summer drink. Can hardly taste the alcohol.

My mother loved DiSaronno and I enjoyed it with her. She passed in 2018 and I hadn't had any since. Recently, I bought a half pint because I'm not really a drinker. I was so looking forward to a shot. I was very disappointed! It was NOT the same. It had gotten cheaper over the years and I'll never buy it again. I am going to try the Tosolini Solitza if I can find it here in the states.

Please do not forget Lynchburg is less than an hour’s drive from the birthplace of the Klan. Just a couple counties over in Pulaski, TN. Yes, Nathan Green and Jack developed a relationship that endures today AT THE SAME EXACT TIME and PLACE in our Nation’s history that birthed some of the finest whiskey in the world and one of the most evil organizations ever. There is picture at the distillery of George Green, one of Nearest’s sons, seated to Jack’s right. That would been unheard of in that era. There has not been a time that Green’s descendants have not worked at the distillery to this day. We all have choices. Choose wisely. Just a thought from the old, white southern guy from Tennessee. Treat your fellow members of the human race right. They might be compelled to reciprocate.
