Easy Homemade 7up Pound Cake Recipe- From scratch! Super moist! No glaze or icing needed!
Easy 7up Pound Cake Recipe:
Ingredients:
3 (scant) cups of sugar
2 sticks of butter
1/2 cup of butter flavored crisco
3 cups of cake flour ( I use Swans Down)
5 eggs
7 oz of 7up pop
1/2 teaspoon of coconut flavor
1 teaspoon of lemon flavor
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Have ingredients at room temperature
Cream sugar, butter and crisco @ high speed
Add eggs, one at a time
Continue beating @ high speed
Add flour and 7up alternately
Add flavoring
Bake in greased tube pan @ 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours
Enjoy!!

You are right. With this recipe, you do not need icing. Delicious...
Thanks for sharing. I always like to watch different versions of classic recipes. I will say this just as advice, flavoring should be added after the eggs, and once you start adding flour the mix time is short. Cake being overmixed makes a heavy dry cake. Pound cakes baked at 325 go for 1hr to 1hr 15 depending on your oven. ❤

I liked the way you explained everything however I thought you were a bit wordy. As you said it was only your second video. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon. If you have any other good recipes you might want to consider a cookbook.

I'm allergic to coconut. Can I use vanilla extract instead?
Hi Pam! Sorry for the late response. I've never tried vanilla with this cake. I truly believe that the coconut and lemon (especially the lemon) flavoring are key to the 7up pound cakes taste; however, I'm sure trying vanilla won't hurt or ruin it. Hey, I tried sprite instead of 7up, and loved it! Lol.. if you try vanilla, you have to let me know how it turned out..❤

I bake cakes and I can say you did a great job. It is good to listen to people on how to do it. That way your cake will get good review from family and friend. Who want to pay someone to bake a cake when you can do it yourself. I learned and so can you all its easy if you got the patience. Good luck to you al.
