Buchheit Logistics
США
Добавлен 30 июн 2017
In 1934, in the midst of the Great Depression, Rudy Buchheit started hauling livestock to market for local farmers. No superhighways, no GPS units - just Rudy, his truck, and his determination to feed his family.
To make the most of each trip, Rudy began hauling goods back on his return trip. Turned out folks back home had a hard time laying hands on such merchandise. So Rudy’s efforts were an immediate hit, and Buchheit Trucking was born.
Several million miles later, Buchheit has become the #1 independent logistics corporation in the region with a network connecting continents around the globe.
Yet in spite of our success, we’ve never forgotten the simple principles that drove Rudy back in 1934: get it there on time, get it there in good condition, and get it there for a fair price.
We call it “Rudy’s way.” And no matter how much farther down the road we go, we’ll never lose sight of it.

Is it required by law to update your trailer and shipment an every time you pick up a new load?
Platform science
Amen and Amen
Is it not possible to have these instructional videos done without using the most FUCKING IRRITATING VOCES on the planet ? ? ?
More technology more stupid things, this is ridiculous, why's soooo confuses, we need careful to drive, not playing with this device
Nothing I love more than doing a half-assed trip plan the day before starting a pre-assigned load because I can't see half of the relevant information without going on-duty. This ELD is hot garbage.
Outstanding! And, very helpful!
wow that's super fantastic
Worked 15 years with paper logs and had a spotless driving record. I worked for 3 months with e-logs and almost crashed twice from exhaustion . I also fell asleep at the wheel trying to outrun a computer. I work a day job now.
Soooo, who do we call for specific questions? I thought pre-trip, post-trip, and trailer inspections were each 15 minutes long and "On Not Driver.". Which adds drive time?? *If I pick up 10 local trailers, this adds 2.5 hours to my work day??? I drove for 13 hours, yet my eld says I still have half hour left. Are we now able to drive 13.5 hours because of bogus trailer inspections??? I do walk around. THAT'S IT!
How do you turn the damn thing on?
Charles, it depends on the model tablet; however, most newer versions use an android tablet, thus just press the power button.
Peoplenet have failed miserably with how crappy this system is. Mine said work duty cycle, 30 min left. My drive time clock was counting down. I figured my 14 hour clock was burnt. I wake up to find I have 3 hours of drive time left. I hate peoplenet, give me Qualcomm.
Facts and then on top of that it doesn’t have a navigation system
What is shipment Id, is it bol number?
The shipment info, per the FMCSA regulation is either Bill of Lading # or Shipper & Commodity.
What does the red triangle on the eld mean?
That there is a malfunction with the ELD and it's connection to the ECM or location information. See your ELD manual for specifically which errors are possible.
So, if you show up to work in the morning and work in the warehouse for 2 hours and then drive you wait to log in until you are about to start driving and add the on duty not driving info, right?
This is correct, you would use the Pre-Shift selection under the Options button and insert the prior on-duty start time.
I had 3 different E-log .... and this one is absolutely the most user unfriendly ELD I've ever used.
No kidding. I was making trip plans in ten minutes or less on other systems almost right out of the gate. I'm half-an-hour into _trying_ to put together a plan on this. It's so unbelievably convoluted and loaded with barriers to stop you from getting the information you need. Can't get a fuel solution to plan it out for the trip because I have to be on-duty... Absurdly bad software.
The biggest issue I've had is doing a yard switch. If you go on duty not driving upon arrival, as soon as you start moving to go find and hook to your other trailer it automatically puts you back into driving mode. I used this system at FedEx for hauling doublesvand it was NOT driver friendly. I do not recommend this system. Go with Keep Truckin'.
Bullshit ass system the dumbest shit created just to get u confused. Learn from from edgeconnect and see how easy to use eld
This is the most problematic eld I've used. Please stay away from peoplenet.
I greatly appreciate our military and our vet's and. I greatly appreciate Buchheits Logistics.... Can't beat wisdom. Awesome content.
Thanks for the comment - we happen to agree, Sid is a good as they get!
So dreading going to this system. Omnitracs is straight forward. I don't have time to play around with a PC.
Actually the system is now built on an android tablet platform and is not that difficult to operate - we are however, looking forward to the release of Trimble's new Insight software that modernizes the ELD experience.
Omnitracs is the best
What a treat... haven't seen you in years.. congratulations
Hey Howard....you may not remember me(Joe keller).but I used to drive your old blue tri axle dump truck...and the ole red Volvo...at Kenny Staggs trucking... perryville...lol that was a @2001-2003erra...anyways hello and my best to u and Linda 👋👋 God bless and SALUTE 🇺🇸
Wow thing that we encounter as a truck driver can be very interesting, traumatizing, and even worse....
Same thing here sir....toys as a child..funny how that works out right....thanks I preciate it sir... SALUTE 🇺🇸 and much respect..God bless
Hey Sid... preciate the video...I'm on the same page with you 10-4 ....I have recently applied for the local job as well...if things work out I hope to see you soon.. I've applied for the 2-12 position...time will tell... SALUTE 🇺🇸 to u Sir the American trucker ✌️
So you telling me a police officers can get into your truck to see your logbooks .
Actually, no, a DOT or law enforcement officer is required to be able to view the driver's ELD from the ground outside the truck, therefore the screen can be either tethered by a long cable, or like Buchheit's, a tablet that can be removed and handed out to the office.
Thank You!
Nice job explaining, however these frequently put you back on duty after you have logged off and when logging back in for next day you find that you don't have drive time. Would be helpful if you could show how to correct that. thanks!
2 part answer to this. #1 is understanding how to prevent the being dumped to Line 4. After logging off/out (not just going off-duty), be sure to not turn the key off immediately; wait for about 2 minutes to ensure that the ELD in the truck has sync'd with the server. #2, should this occur, and you find yourself on Line 4 with zero hours available, 1st get off of the On-duty line and close the open status by changing your status to Off-duty (Off) or Sleeper-berth (SB), since you cannot edit an open status. Then go under "Logs" then "Events" and go back to the date the on-duty status began. Scroll down the list of the events until you find the status you need to edit, and click on the status, select "Edit" and change to the appropriate status (i.e. Off), provide a "Reason" then click "Save" and walla - you're good to go! Note that you can also do this on the ELD Driver Portal website, which I find to be MUCH easier than in the truck. Be sure you know your company's Organization ID and your login info. compliance.fleethealth.io/eFleetSuite/Login.aspx? Hope this was helpful!
You can edit logs on your online profile
~+~+~+~+ Glad I can pause, rewind & rewatch this video. That's a lot of information. ~+~+~+~+~+
Yes it is a lot to take in, especially if you have never used an electronic log; however, though not the best or easiest system on the market, it isn't that bad and most drivers find it much better than older systems or paper logs.
Way too much it's awful
Where is the Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection section? Section for loading or uploading remarks?
Christopher, The Pre-trip Inspection process is built into the coming On-duty process and is tied directly to the amount of time between the driver's initiating beginning their shift and the time the driver certifies that there are no defects (or that there are defects). The same is true of the Post Trip Inspection process at the end of the driver's shift when they either go Off-duty or Sleeper Berth. Loading/Unloading or Fueling is also tied to On-duty status functions. Remarks are entered on any status as an Annotation and can be included at the time of initiating the status or afterwards.
This stupidity had to be created by some government egghead! Truckers wouldn’t do this to one another!
Hahaha you got me .
Oh My God, give me a paper Log !!
No shit!!!
W o R D ! !
A guy needs a N.A.S.A lab engineer in the passenger seat just to do a post trip...😂
Amen and Amen
I pull a end dump frameless an im still wounding why yall have 2 tarps on ur trailers
Chris, due to some customer needs to meet EPA requirements, we utilize an EPA tarp during the loading process (i.e., limestone ) to keep down the dust. The second tarp is rolled back after loading and the main tarp rolled into place to transport the product.
Sioux City electric tarp system is terrific. We have the gear motor specifically for automatic tarp system, which is market-proven and has been dominating the US market for many years www.microgearmotor.com/special-use-motor/truck-tarp-motor/
Is this for OTR
Applies to anyone using a PeopleNet ELD to record a driver's Record of Duty Status (RODS). Note that "Short-haul" drivers are exempt from maintaining a RODS; however, some carriers like Buchheit still utilize a RODS to meet the time-card requirements for a local driver.
Hello I needed tutorial for change tractor procedure.
In "assets" delete the trailer you are dropping and add the new trailer number.
So instead of actually taking the 10 - 15 minutes each day for pre/post trip, instead you spend all your time going through these redundant menus. Your trailer may be unsafe but atleast you entered your password multiple times and saved the company liability. That's what this is all about. To hell with safety, just make sure the company is free of responsibility for poor equipment. Who created this garbage? Lawyers of course! Damn sure wasn't designed by truckers or even dispatch. She lost me after about the 3rd button. This is NOT user friendly. I understand trademark and copyrights but why couldn't they make this at the very least more user friendly or similar to Omnitrak. The industry standard. They didn't need to re-invent the wheel.
Amen!!!
Standby James, as we understand that Trimble has a modern, driver friendly version coming out later this year.
Sooo, I'm sick as a dog and forgot I had a new ELD starting tonight. Now to cram...🤣🤣
Quail com is so much better n easier
Is Qualcomm like this
@@AlecDaStar no quil com a lot simpler.qc is expensive like 5000 a box i believe bit well worth it if company can afford it
Agreed! To many buttons! I need to go!
@@danashby9597me too I got a headache
Porqué mi ELD me pone en vez de 8 horas para el rest brake 11 horas
Que'?
How does one add the DVIR button to the ELD and is this applicable to doing the DVIR pre and post trip when entering sleeper berth and exiting sleeper berth?
Thomas, if enabled by your company through their PeopleNet account, the DVIR process is automatic and the driver is prompted during the post-trip inspection process to certify there are no defects on the vehicle or to list identified defects, then state if safe to operate or not.
ELD shouldn't have this many steps. Ha Ha. This is silly. Repetitive steps
So true we're doing the trucking company office work for them
How do I find 8 day recap?
David Arend, your Cycle Duty keeps a running total of hours used on your 60/70-hour clock, however; since a recap is not required by regulation, for total hours worked each day, you would need to review each previous day’s RODS.
Though it does automatically calculate a drivers total hours worked and adds in hours falling off after 8-days, unfortunately PeopleNet does not provide an 8-day recap summary to the driver - it does reflect hours worked each day and a driver can manually calculate the total hours over the previous 7/8 days.
How do I change time zones?
Hucias ramon, the clock on the PeopleNet unit can be adjusted under the “system” settings, however your daily log does not need adjusted as by FMCSA regulation, is required to be the time zone of the company’s terminal.
Loosing drive time doing this nonsense
Can't imagine how fun this would be in the winter
tacomamike2005 we are currently upgrading our bulk trailers with dual auto tarp systems, however there are a few trailers that still have the manually operated EPA tarp.
