Pikmin - 5 Parts Speedrun 7:13【GC WR】
Thanks to Soarviverforever for motivating me to get such a time as this.
It's beatable but 7:13 is super respectable in my opinion. The quality of this run exceeds the quality of my 6:52 on switch by quite a lot.
The route is almost entirely TRR's 6:28 5 parts TAS, just changed for RTA.
Pikmin TASes are just so hard to compete with, so I can be satisfied being only 45s slower than TAS.

Quite fast but it's a shame about the cutscene skips. This is the result of a couple of days work. Extremely beatable, the TAS of this route is 6:28, and my gold to yellow onion is 10s faster. I'm not sure how much more I want to push it but if somebody beats it I will obviously come back.

This run beats my old 26:47 wr, which at the time I was immensely proud of, by over 2 minutes! I believe this is the FIRST EVER time someone has had 5 perfect scores in every level. It's only recently people have started being able to perfect Distant Spring, and there are only 6 documented people to achieve it so far. The other players, as far as I know, have not maxed their leaderboards.

Everything went pretty well but then I didn't check the yellow 10, which is the most obvious mistake. I pushed it so it wouldnt slow stuff down as it entered the ship, and so it wouldn't get push backwards. Ideally it would be pushed out to the side. Unfortunately I mistimed it and it traffic jammed with ADF. I lost a lot of time, the finale to fn is arguably the worst part of this run.

Little tip: get rid of the rewind at start. I thought u were going to use rewind which is cheating. I saw why u did it but may throw others off. Just trim it. Easy to do. 😊

Been enjoying watching your P4 stuff Mokay, it's really interesting seeing how the route for this has improved. I appreciate reading the explanations you give too, as a speedrunner myself I can really relate to the reasons you mentioned for doing that. Like somehow the mistakes just don't feel quite as bad if you can explain what happened and where you were mentally in certain moments.
what are your shortcuts? I think I saw you use swap, juice, dismiss/2, stun and bomb, but I thought there were only 4 buttons for shortcuts

Nice WR! I think the missing 4 yellows is because 2 reds grabbed onto the corpse right before it reached the Onion, I see a pink 5/3 above the corpse in the last frame it existed. Way to keep going in spite of that!

I got a really lucky one where the positron generator came flying out of the clam and landed on the beach. Issue is out of all the play through I've done of pikmin this has only happened once.

Now I may be drinking some goofy berry juice, but this is how I think the final trials COULD be possible. 1: reset the day and get random bomb rock spawns (I don’t know if anything is switched if you replay the same day, if it does, then we’re in the gold zone) 2: kill the emperor and push the treasure through the right side (no one ever uses it but I feel like it’s much more possible than using the left side) 3: you have successfully won with only reds (this relies on if bomb rock locations switch if you replay the same day, which I have no idea if it does but technically that means if you just reset the day constantly, someone could legally get a bomb rock on the bottom level and clip up there) This would also mean blue only is also possible, if my hope is correct. I really really want to see my red boys, the underdogs, your first, and most loyal pikmin. Get to win solo.

@@Manny4Life948 during testing while using frame advance, the bombs are the opposite of dense objects. You can push them easily because they don't push olimar much. There is a specific spot to clip up, but the timing to achieve it is 1 frame, and the frame is inconsistent (basically feels random). You then have to push the bomb back into position again and fight against it sliding away from the wall. It's possible but it's extremely unlikely you'll do it fast enough to get the safe into position.
