One wet BB
This evening after I saw a doe and her fawn I was hoping to see a bear. It was about a half an hour before dark and like I always do I started videoing without seeing anything. I heard what sounded like a crow taking flight at the door of my blind but there were no crows around. I started watching to the right side of my blind and seconds later here came BB. You should be able to hear her when she got startled around my blind at the beginning of the video.

Yoyo, night after Black Beauty

Yoyo showed up just one night after I saw the new bear I named Black Beauty (BB). I think Yoyo could tell another bear was in her spot when sniffing the ground for food and when she was startled, I thought maybe I would see them both at once, but BB is probably as weary of Yoyo as she is of her.

This evening, I wished I would have spotted Pippin sooner because after I stopped resting my eyes for a minute, I spotted Pippin laying on a log. I thought maybe he might take a nap there he looked so comfortable, but he smelled his supper waiting on him. Again, he took it and headed for a secluded spot to woof it down then came back for a few seeds.
Yoyo hiding behind the tree

Yesterday evening Yoyo thought she could hide behind a tree. I put the seeds to the left of the tree, but she was able to sit behind the tree and eat them. As it started to get dark, I think there was another bear nearby, Yoyo must have smelled it and took off but returned a few minutes later.

Yoyo's morning stroll

Yoyo was out for her stroll this morning stretching her bones. I had no problem with her smelling me this morning as she walked within 25 yards of my blind, but she sensed something wasn't right and didn't stay long after that. The last time, she kept digging at her foot trying to remove something that was irritating her. She had a look at it this morning and I believe it is doing much better.

This morning Yoyo had a thorn or something in her paw. I wish I could help her with it, but the reason she left is because she just heard the shutter on my camera. She will get it eventually and hopefully by the next time I see her.

Bears can always tell when you’ve changed brands or wear a new pair of jeans without washing first. That nose knows too much. Gorgeous video!
I read their sense of smell is 2000 x stronger than a humans 😮.

I have a Canon 5d Mark 4 with a 100-400mm lens and I am recording in my blind from about 40 yards away. I try to eliminate my scent so they don't know I am there, thanks.

There’s a difference, feeding them directly or indirectly. These are being fed indirectly! Nothing illegal or unsafe about it.
