Hi
Many thanks for supporting video
Hi
Hi
Great video
This is a really cool video because you get to see the transformation at the end where they change colors from the teneral pale color to the beginning of the darker final color. Thanks for sharing and I hope this one was treated humanely and allowed to go out and find their mate.
Loving these videos so far, they’re a great resource. I do have to say though, I very much disagree about arachnids not making good pets. Sure they’re not cuddly, but neither are fish. You don’t get a scorpion or tarantula and expect it to act like a dog, they’re beautiful to admire and observe. I have an Asian forest scorpion and an amblypygid and they’re both delightful little fellows to watch. That being said, I still very much appreciate having these lectures on RUclips, they’re great to watch and have to learn about arthropods so thank you for uploading them.
many thanks for the videos you posted since 2014. for me entomology is just a hobby and a juvenile passion, now i'm 68 just retired. what about lectures 1,2, 7a and b etc? Bye
A rather disingenuous description of what true xeriscaping looks like
Saya benci nyamuk culex (siang, pagi, sore, malem aku digigitin terus 😢). Di depan dan samping rumahku ada saluran got yang terbuka (bagian atasnye) soalnya #SALAMtamringantenk
Loved it! Hope to see more of your courses someday
What text book is being used with this course?
There isn't a text book for this course, but I recommend the Cornell University Press book on Insects That Feed on Trees & Shrubs, and my co-authored book from Princeton Press book, Garden Insects of North America, second edition.
@@daveshetlar4651 Purchased, thanks!!

Very nice Commentry. Karrapan poochi
Awesome video!
Awesome
I would like to hear about eradication of leafhopper plumeria in Florida.
Thank you!
Those hydrangea leaf tier are giving my plants the blues. The leaves where they’re present look like pillows. I snap them off since I won’t get a flower there. From there I smash the pillow and spray the plant with BT for any new ones.
Cool shit
Thoroughly enjoyed great job! I am neither a college student nor do I live anywhere close to Ohio.......
Mandibulate mouthparts are amazing! Great lecture!
Awesome lecture, love your energy! I wish I was taking your classes!
Great info, thank you. Is there any time it's preferable to leave pitch mass on the tree? I had wood peckers and got rid of them by hanging reflective tape. The next year I started seeing a lot of sap/pitch.
this guy is way too underrated
Awesome video, Thank you ! ! I can't believe there are not more likes and comments on this great video with great photos.
I've been so disappointed every time I've gone out this past week as there are zero signs in my immediate neighborhood (where there's tons of old trees!). I know there are some showing up about half a mile away, but alas none here. I really hope to see some soon!
Oil would hel to control it?
Horticultural oils (mineral and plant oils that are designed to be applied to green plants at low rates) will kill most mites, but only by contact. Many of the eriophyid/rust mites are in galls or deeply imbedded in plant folds, so hitting them with oils can be very difficult.
Useful..thankyou
#rezasaraiki for #saraikilearning
very helpful . thank you sir
I found a piece of art glass for 50 cents today at a garage sale..it was dirty. After I gently rubbed clean..omgosh! It's Sooo pretty!. I think it's a Fenton... I'm not sure though. This form of art is amazing!!!
It's incomplete- where do I find the rest of the lecture?
Really great video.
Great lecture! Entomology is so fascinating, they're like Pokemon! I'm a chemical engineer with a nanotechnology background and I went to a school renowned for entomology. I was able to see how often we refer to bugs for complex engineering design -if I could go to school forever after my PhD, I'd go straight back for an entomology degree!
This is awesome. It's like an entry from Mass Effect. Entomology is so cool!
The translucent oak gall looks like a grape. Is it dangerous to ingest?
Probably not dangerous, but being on an oak, it would likely be full of bitter tannins.
"thats pretty kinky"
Great sir
Sir.... Your lectures series have unique presentation..... Different from most of lectures....easy to understand....... You are tried to simplify the entomology...... I appreciate your effort........Thanku so much Sir....... Stay blessed Sir.....
Very informative and easy to understand.... Sir.... Great effort
very nice sir
The actual process takes about 6 minutes from starting to take a gather to finish (putting it into the lehr). There are usually two to four people taking gathers and walking each piece through the process. This is slower than the pressed pieces that Fenton made where there might be five to six handlers and one or two finishers. This would mean that they would produce a piece every minute or less while these blown molded pieces would be a piece every two to three minutes. Each piece may take three to six hours in the lehr (an oven that slowly cools the piece to remove internal tension), depending on the size and form.
How long does the whole process of this really take, from the start to the end?
