Just came back from Kauai - noticed that there are a lot more roosters than hens. There were some mothers with chicks. I suspect that the locals are eating the hens due to the insane price of food in Kauai.

Do you have to get permission to go to the lighthouse? I know there’s a guard station off of Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway, can you just say you want to visit the lighthouse and they’ll let you through?
