Gabriel Frankewich, and his wife Tricia, own and operate The Blade Doctor, L.L.C., providing sharpening services and sales to the New York State Capital Region. We are the only sharpening service in the area who believes in educating stylists/barbers/groomers about their shears so they can ensure their shears are cared for properly to increase longevity. We offer services not only for beauty/barber/grooming shears, but also for clipper blades and clipper machine maintenance, knives, ice auger blades, lawn mower blades, dental and surgical. The Blade Doctor is like the plastic Surgeon of the sharpening industry. It never fails that he sees some shears that have been butchered by previous sharpeners. But by the time Gabriel is finished, the shears are restored to better than new condition. That is one heck of a facelift.

A previous sharpener ground out these shears and they had no angle to them, literally zero degrees. Of course The Blade Doctor got them back into beautiful working condition!

The Blade Doctor was called into one of his regular locations. There was a new barber that started from a different location and previously had his stuff sharpened by a guy who "knew what he was doing." Yikes!

You should never use your shears for anything other than cutting hair. This shear was used to open what appears to be a glue bottle; there was residue on the shears and damage top the blades. The Blade Doctor cleaned and sharpened to perfection.
