Fish eating dead skin from our feet. For ticklish people this is a torture at first but then you get used to it. The laughter you hear is from a lady that was getting started but she calmed down later.

Introducing Skytrain's new Evergreen Line

Skytrain ride from Lafarge Lake - Douglas Station to Lougheed Town Centre Station
i'm Malaysia for kelana jaya Line LRT Train ❤❤❤
the 3rd rail looked so clean
Why do the trains flip tracks?
Sweet video man.. I was involved with building the switches on the evergreen line.! I haven't got to ride it yet. But I will when I move back there next year to help on the Broadway line!
I’m interested in knowing what your trade is working on the tracks
I miss Vancouver so much, will show my family in Vancouver this video, cheers mate.
Nice tour of the evergreen extension!
Would staying on a train at lougheed town center bring you into this?
4:22 Fun Fact according to a skytrain attendant who was pleasantly chatty on opening day: That shed is a place for the skytrains to "take a bath". Its like an automatic car wash designed specifically for washing skytrains (all 3 "models" too) and yes this includes bells and whistles like waxing and polishing. Yeah they wax and polish skytrains now. Skytrains were always washed of course but this is a much better less time consuming washing facility which will allow them to wash skytrains more often. If you noticed skytrains especially the MKII cars theyve been favouring on the "post evergreen" millenium line looking cleaner on the outside since Evergreen opened this is why. The skytrains parked there all looked extremely clean and shiny except for the one parked right near the main line which probably just got there. They were probably doing initial tests of the washing facility at that time. According to said attendant the ultimate dream is to have skytrains be able to go there and "wash themselves" when in out of service mode especially if theyre going to go park somehwere or on the way back down after closing time. That would be neat to get footage of if it is ever implemented.
SkyTrain will always be my most genuinely loved of all iconic BC megaprojects. Something we still expand from time to time. I dont even live in the lower mainland and probably never will long term but every time I visit there I end up making time to go check on the skytrain ride around and see how its doing. I made a special visit just to see the opening of the Evergreen Line and its not a quick journey to get there from my part of the interior. Just something extremely enjoyable about whizzing over the city in a self driving train it makes you feel like youre living in the future. It must have been completely epic to ride on something like it back in the 80s.
At about the 13 to 15 minute mark, the track on your right rises up and then comes back down seemingly for no reason - how come it does that?
Give coronavirus resume the SkyTrain
Seems like forever ago when I took my first ride on the Skytrain between Main and Broadway before it officially started. When I moved to Winnipeg in 2010 the Cambie to Airport line was still a new thing. Going to the airport to catch my flight was the last time I was on Skytrain but the sounds are still fresh in my head, kinda soothing in a nostalgic sorta way.
Lincoln is an interesting place to hang around. So is Burquitlam. Two new places to explore.
The tracks used to be so quiet!
its like a real life Emery from Chuggington :D i been one something similar to this at some airports...if I was on one of these by myself though I be having so much fun with it! I'd stand up front and pretend im driving the train. lol (even if its a self driving train)
I appreciate your commentary. I moved away from Vancouver when Skytrain was just one line from downtown Vancouver, to downtown Surrey. So I have been enjoying all the new lines courtesy of the various videos people have put on RUclips. I miss the Seawall, Stanley Park, the laid back lifestyle, and the myriad cultures that make Vancouver the truly cosmopolitan city it has always been world famous for.
The stations look great! For a rapid transit line I notice considerable gap in length between stations... more like heavy rail.
So, skytrains don't have drivers?
Did you get permission to go on the skytrain when it is testing?
This skytrain line replace the 97 b line in December 2016
Next stop #742 Evergreen Terrace
That tunnel must be among the longest transit tunnels without a stop in it? Longest in the Skytrain network at least I think
Great video great commentary
36 years in making! Thanks for sharing.
How was he Able to ride before everyone else??
Sheesh! I remember when there was NO Skytrain. I feel old.
The Evergreen tag is being phased out. Its now all the Millennium Line now.
What's the max on Evergreen line?
finish the expo line to Langley next!
You did a fantastic job on this video. THANK YOU 😍
Surrey needs an expo line extension. too many cars on the road and LRT won't work
So if your sitting on the front seat, there is no actual person driving this train. Right?
Jack Israelson correct. These are automated trains.
Never has been.
Were you testing the trains? I want to come up again to be in the trains. love them. seattle is CRAP for mass transit.
on Friday april 22nd 2017 there were to cougars walking on th tracks at Inlet Centre Station at 4:16 am
OMG, the public transportation in Europe is so crowded almost al lthe time and yet it looks like nobody wants to use it in Vancouver BC, because it is so empty
Attila Kiss This is just a new set of tracks before they opened.
Yeah I dont get it either, but if whole vancouver gets access to trains like this, id probably use this everyday
My dad works almost next door to moody central he can see the station
Really nice looking extension, but I'm awestruck at the beauty of Vancouver. Seriously, it is gorgeous. Definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth. I know it gets a lot of hate for its architecture, but I don't mind it at all, and the urban planning is really quite amazing. To see walkable nodes/districts next to the stations far from downtown. I wish other cities would learn a thing or two from Vancouver
Yeah! Looks nice
Opened in 2nd December !
and if you want you can take an early ride on it like this video
Daniel King it would be an honour to be one of the early passengers on your new skytrain line.
hey Oliver S When I'm 25 years old I'm gonna extend the evergreen line from Lafarge Lake-Douglas when they open the train will stop at Port Coquitlam, Mission City, Kenton, Lanton, Lynnwood Way, 4th and Coquitlam, Jackson and terminate at Tynnwood Way when they open the evergreen line will no longer terminate at Lafarge Lake-Douglas
My favourite station on the evergreen line is Inlet Centre Station cause of the tilework
the station look a lot more modern than the kelana jaya line in kuala lumpur. even though both system uses the same bombardier innovia art 200 & mark III train
I wonder what will become of Sapperton and Braid Stations now that the main branches of the Expo and Millennium Lines will run to Surrey and Coquitlam respectively. Had they thought it out, they'd have the Expo Line serve Coquitlam and the Millenium Line go to Surrey instead of the present configuration.
Just a little note: at 3:28 at Coquitlam Central there is a dead-end spur track just west of that station to facilitate the construction of a branch line, possibly to Port Coquitlam. When that happens, an additional set of platforms will be built at Coquitlam Central. You can see this on the track diagram here: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4e/Vancouver_SkyTrain_track_diagram_v3.svg
Oliver maybe if you are lucky and Ottawa and octranspo will ask you to test out there new Canada or train at the testing phase
I am surprised that the sky train announcement system does not say the anounnoucment in French too
captianjessie1 Ya, for the ten Frenchmen who live in Van. .
I wish they could announce it in French too.
How come most of the stations are split platform? it makes changing directions so much more difficult for the passengers...
There are 2 main benefits to side platform stations. First they're far cheaper. For Island platform stations you have to spend more resources building up extra track space for the rails to separate, and 2, side platform stations allow for easier passenger control, so that if there is heavy traffic heading one direction, the other direction isn't affected.
THE EVERGREEN LINE IS OPEN RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!
thank you Oliver you just saved me five bucks. and a couple of hours. LOL
FYI It's called Coquitlam Central Station
