But I can't remove the narrow plastic piece to the right of the hook, and that's because the hook won't let me. Hello, i bought a rehomed Singer Tradition 2250 and it seems to have an issue itll go up and down every once in a while. I can move the handwheel to stitch but not use the peddle. I think it may be the washer. Ive gotten it to the point you have but I'm not sure where to go from here or what to look for.

You can absolutely make it in cotton. I've made it in cotton, flannel, fleece, faux fur, etc. This pattern takes a lot of easing (finagling) with any fabric, it's just a bit more finagling with cotton

Please my sewing machine 2250 has a problem, i cannot sew. The lower thread always jem and it cannot make any stich at all.

What interfacing did you put on the exterior and lining of the flap?
